Looking forward to Roy Jones next move
Roy still has plenty in the tank, despite his Tarver and Johnson losses if he can beat Calzaghe or Hopkins or both will propel him even farther on the all time PFP list.
As many doctors as we have around here:rolleyes: Roy isint going to get anymore hurt than the next guy who climbs in a boxing ring. I know Tito is no career defing fight for him but I saw alot of changes in his defense and desicion making. Jones had confidence issues not physical as many claim he is shot.. To me a shot fighter is one that looks and acts sluggish with diminished speed and reaction not able to pull the trigger and take advantage of openings and lacks that 6th gear when needed, pretty much the body betraying the mind and the commands that are initiated.
Roy has shown none of these qualities aside from the normal detrioration from age, Roy still posesses probably the fastest hands in Boxing to go along with a marked improvement in defense that is predicated more on fundamental skill and technique than reflex. Roy has been evolving as a fighter and has come leaps and bounds in confidence. He has built himself up the right way from those KO losses gradually ramping up the level of comp.

No one wants to take a stab at this one huh?
Re: Looking forward to Roy Jones next move
I'm also interested in seeing what Roy Jones Jr. will do next. I think both he and Felix Trinidad gave great accounts of themselves in their fight and proved they have something left in the tank. I would like to see him against some of the younger talent out there, such as a Chad Dawson, Allan Green, an Edison Miranda, or even an Anthony Mundine.
I think the tale of Roy Jones Jr.'s demise is greatly exaggerated. He still would be a handful for alot of fighters with his fast hands and footwork. Plus Roy Jones Jr. seems to be getting his confidence back and that doesn't bode well for the competition. A confident Roy Jones Jr. is a dangerous thing and he could easily find himself back at the top.
I don't know what caused Roy Jones Jr. to perform so poorly against Tarver and Johnson. Maybe he loss his passion for the sport, or if you listen to him it was trying to lose the muscle mass he gained going up to heavyweight, but whatever it was he looks like he is fully back now.
