Khan handed WBO eliminator
Amir Khan is just one step away from a world title fight after Martin Kristjansen was named as his next opponent in what will be a WBO eliminator.Full article at Sky Sports | Boxing | News | Kristjansen next for Khan
Is khan gonna get expossed now he is in with a decent fighter or is he as good as he says he is?
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
So its not romanov or Thaxton, shame. I think he wins this but will find it hard against Katsidis at this time. I think he should move up a weight class and challenge Rees. He will find lightweight too hard IMO at this stage of his career.
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
Rees has said he would welcome the chance to shut Khan up so that fight could be made easy.Plus it would be a easyer fight for Khan to win.
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
Shock horror who would have thought a Warren fighter getting an eliminator for the WBO JOKE TITLE.
:)
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
Kahn V Juan Diaz that would be an interesting fight, both guys throw a lot of punches could provide some fireworks if Frank Warren is brave enough to stick Kahn in there with him doubt it tho
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
How many fights does Khan have now? like 12 or so?

You're kidding, right? Juan 'Porkie Pie' Diaz, undoubtedly the best and most dominant lightweight in the world today? And by some distance. The only interest would lie in how many rounds Khan would survive. Now David Diaz might be a different matter. But even there, not yet.
At least this Danish guy is a genuine lightweight. For that reason alone, it presents Khan with a new challenge.
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
I read in The London Paper today he wants Hatton(again) in a year or so.
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
Well the Dane is getting a small payday, he is decent and that is all. I put my piggybank on Khan. TKO or wide UD.
Nothing to fear there, unless you are danish and called Kristjansen.
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
I say khan beats kristjansen but would have a lot of trouble against j.diaz
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
what's Diaz punching power like ? Don't really know that much about him.
I fancy Khan to, at least, outpoint anyone anyone who doesn't pack decent KO power.
It's when he gets in with someone like that I think he will fall;)
Re: Khan handed WBO eliminator
Love the way they threw Romanovs name all over the shop - almost as a 2nd choice fight, should the American venture not happen then up pops the powderpuff Khan was originally gonna face - Martin Kristjansen
funny how this game works

Yes Juan Diaz is a great fighter but he isnt a big puncher and Kahn looks quick big for a lightweight i think hes underated as a fighter but i really dont know how talented he is as hes been fighting very low quality fighters i would defiantly favour Diaz but i wouldnt rule KAhn out putting up a good fight.
The title eliminator is for Juans title right?
