Has anyone here seen this video or have read work of Joseph Campbell?
I just looked his name up and just the things I read in google, he seems interesting as hell and i'm going to looks for some reviews of his books...
Have you seen his stuff or read any of it?
Yes, his stuff seems very interesting... I love listening to this sort of stuff at work as I am at a desk for 7 hours a day and don't have to speak to anyone, so I just wack headphones on and this stuff eases my boredom.. I am sure I have heard his name before as well. I'm not sure where, but he's been recommended to me before.
Hope you don't mind, I came across an audio lecture he did regarding the Grail Legend which i'm downloading now. :) I've posted the links below if you or anyone else is interested.

Joseph Campbell - The Grail Legend
MP3 32Kbps | 6 x 17MB | Audiobook Lecture | Spoken Word
Those already familiar with Joseph Campbell will know he was the foremost authority on the psychological reading of Mythology in the twentieth century. Most famous perhaps (the power of television!) for an American PBS series with Bill Moyers, though in my opinion, tapes of his regular lectures are really the best introduction. This is a MP3 rip of a tape series (hence the A and B sides for those who remember them) of a lecture on the Grail Legend. King Arthur's round table of equal Knights, going out to seek the Holy Grail is literally the stuff of Myth. Just remember, those setting out on their life's quest might do worse than remember the Knights of the Round Table, who on setting out, thought that it would be ignoble to travel in a group, each took their own turning into the forest "where he saw the forest was the thickest and there was no way or path...."
Below is his book The Power of Myth.. It's only 250kb so it'll take a second to download, but it's completely ghetto style Word document and not .PDFCode:http://rapidshare.com/files/70344720/Joseph_Campbell_The_Grail_Legends_4-82_Tape_1-A.mp3

Im glad you find him interesting also. I actually just started looking into his work. I have his video of the power of myth, its very interesting. I will keep rewatching it til I grasp enough, the guy speaks of so many interesting perspective. Almost like opening a new set of eyes or discovering a new insight.
Hopefully more of the guys here know about him, Im still learning too so anything about him will be appreciated.
You can find a number of clips on youtube from the Power of Myth DVDs.
Also The Power of Myth DVD's are sold on Amazon/CDNOW
Maybe that's where I heard about him... anyway, very intelligent man! Geat writting! I'm going to look for some more stuff that he's done through Amazon.
I've also found a link below to my favourite book of all time... It's called The Discoverers. It's absolutely brilliant... If an interesting fact is like a drop of water, this book is like putting your mouth over a fire hydrant and letting it drown you until the end of the book... I've never learnt so much interesting stuff, page after page, with any book in my life... I've actually had to buy this book 3 times as i've lent it out to people and not got it back, but it's the sort of book you just read, and have to share it... Anyway, there is a link for the amazon page for it if you want to learn more about it, and there is the rapidshare link for the actual book that you can get for free.
