Odlanier Solis scores UD over Cisse Salif...
Nothing much else to say...Solis looked good in the 4th rnd and tried for the KO,but Salif can take a punch and fought very defensive...
All in all Solis showed alot of skill and variability...going to the body and head taking power out and back again in his punches...
Lets see what the future holds for Solis...

fightnews:
Unbeaten Cuban Olympic heavyweight gold medallist Odlanier Solis (8-0, 5 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over durable veteran Cisse Salif (22-10-2, 20 KOs). Solis was in command all the way as he compiled a one-sided win.
...
BTW it was only 8 rnds...

What was expected I guess, wasn't Solis fighting at his lowest weight? I can't wait to see him fight a tougher test

Yes...compared to his first pro fight Solis weighted 11 pounds less...You could actually see some muscles...;D

That is his biggest concern for me, he has a world of talent but he needs to keep that weight down
Re: Odlanier Solis scores UD over Cisse Salif...
I agree, If this guy can keep his weight in check he can be dominant in the division. He has loads of talent and hits like a sledgehammer.

The weight he had today was pretty okay shouldn't be much less(or more)...
Re: Odlanier Solis scores UD over Cisse Salif...
I think Solis CAN be good however his fitness will be in question when he ends up having to go 10-12 rounds. I do hope that he gets a challenge shown on HBO.
Solis and Haye had a good fight in the amateurs...

Great back and forth action in that fight
Re: Odlanier Solis scores UD over Cisse Salif...
Yeah i could barely believe it when in the first round Hay landed that uppercut and it wobbled Solis all the way across the ring.. classic matchup.
Re: Odlanier Solis scores UD over Cisse Salif...
I don't think anyone was expecting Solis to slip up in this one, and the heavyweight division is wide open at the moment.
Anyone up for a Solis v Haye rematch as a title eliminator?

Well...I know it was only 8 rnds, but these weren't any problem no huffing and puffing...if Solis team built up the conditioning work I don't think there will be any trouble...

That would be awesome...but Solis needs at least a year more as a pro for this fight...
Re: Odlanier Solis scores UD over Cisse Salif...
If they can manage his weight and maintain him fit the kids got as good of a chance as Sasha, Eddie and the rest.
Re: Odlanier Solis scores UD over Cisse Salif...
I think a matchup vs Eddie Chambers would be perfect for Solis RIGHT NOW. Eddie has quick hands and good defense but he tires out easily.
A Solis-Povetkin fight would be awesome! As would a Solis-Arreola fight!
But Solis and his team should pace themselves, get Solis used to the pro game and get him in vs better opposition and tougher styles.
My choices for Solis' next opponents: Domonick Guinn, Taras Bidenko, Timor Ibragimov, Paolo Vidoz, Monte Barrett, or Friday Ahunaya.
After he fights 1-2 of those guys he can step it up vs some older vets like Fres Oquendo or Jameel McCline or Kali Meehan or Luan Krasniqi.
After 2-3 fights at that level he's going to be ready for the top level guys.
Solis will have 12-15 fights when he makes his move on the division's titles
