Actual training suggestion from a great fighter!
Chris Eubank is a former World Champion at middleweight and super-middleweight, he was undefeated in 43 fights and fought all of his mandatories. Eubank told a pro boxer preparing for his first 12-round fight to try this routine-
5-10 mins shadow boxing to warm-up. (regular rest between rounds), three rounds of bag work replaced by three rounds of sparring every other day(replaced by three rounds of sparring every day 10 days before the fight), a round of speed ball, a round of double-end ball, three rounds of bag work, a round of speed ball, a round of double-end ball. then with no break straight onto skipping, he told him to be skipping non-stop to failure and if he couldn't get to half an hour skipping then bounce up and down and/or squat up and down until half an hour passed. (situps, pushups, pullups etc are only optional here never mandatory).
if he was an attacking fighter instead of a counter-puncher, he said he should replace the second three rounds of bag work every other day with three rounds of mitt work (but eubank wasn't a fan of attacking fighting, he believed in counter-punching and never did any mitt work).
another thing he said was always lots of stretching before and after training.
the routine was to be done every single day even the day before the fight!
he said to him also to do roadwork every morning, for well within his limits at first but gradually running further with each week to build up a good stamina level for the fight, then 10 days before the fight just to do sprinting instead.
dont go straight back into training after the fight he told him, only rest and unwind.
I just thought this was interesting...?
