Re: Man Puts Life Up For Auction
What a bizarre story. Can't believe his employers approve and are going to offer the winning bidder a two trial at his job :o
Re: Man Puts Life Up For Auction
I think it's sad his friends are fine with being sold!
Re: Man Puts Life Up For Auction
WQow!
What an idea! It's a great idea on how to just leave everything and start afresh though!
What an idea!

What if nobody bids and the auction doesn't sell?
Won't that in effect mean everybody is saying he has a shitty life and they wouldn't want it at any cost?
He's setting himself up for a huge fall imo.
Re: Man Puts Life Up For Auction
Well Bilbo I feel the fact that he has received some media coverage will insure that he has some bidders.
Furthermore, as to the effect on the man's ego and mental state, I think thats what you were implying, well I feel it takes a very resigned and stable person to make this decision. From the brief presentation of his personality we received in the article he seems to be a grounded guy, who will change one way or another and is imply looking for his own unique way to do it.

Not sure I agree really. I think he's probably a big drama queen wanting to make an ostentatious display of his emotional epiphany.
His ex is probably reading all the articles and thinking.....what a tosser
Re: Man Puts Life Up For Auction
Thats true in a way, he's getting attention for his old life when all he says he wants is to forget.
And his ex is thinking what a tosser as she obviously has hr issues with himand he's going to the media for sympathy.
However, I still think it's a good idea.
Making sure he has plenty of finance heading away, tieing up all loose ends and getting rid of all the physical embodiments of his memories.
Re: Man Puts Life Up For Auction
I think its a grand idea to just be able to just sell everything and start afresh. Doing it all by auction sounds quite novel though.
Re: Man Puts Life Up For Auction
I think there is a chance for this man to make a huge amount of money.
Re: Man Puts Life Up For Auction
Starting at $390,000 covers the house, the rest are really immaterial and if the guy really is giving everything up he's making a profit for every cent more offered for such things.
