Thanks man, I have been watching boxing since the mid 80's and I never remember this many fighters in their 30's (or early 40's) in the mix, fighter around 32 or 33 use to fade slowly back then
Re: The Fountain of youth?
It might be a sign that fighters careers are better managed these days, and that they dont fight as often. Better diet and fitness helps a lot of these guys fight longer.
Also interesting to note all the guys except Mayorga on your list arent brawlers, and most use either good defense or speed to win their matches.
Re: The Fountain of youth?
Mayweather was countering the jab, and it wasn't landing very much that is why Oscar hardly used it, he wasn't able to set anything up with it, and he is was muffling his attack when he got Mayweather on the ropes because he would be too close.
Re: The Fountain of youth?
It amazes me how many of the divisions top fighters are 35 plus and I never though a top p4p guy would be 43, but hell Saoul Mambys fighting at 60 I believe anything is possible now in boxing.
