Andy Lee........Michael Katsidis anyone else feeling this?

I personally think if Casa has anything else left in him we're going to see what happened to Andy Lee happent to Achilles.

Katsidis to me has zero skill and I think his punch power is overratted.

He went life and death with Graham Earl who managed to stand up to his punches for 5 rounds until his corner pulled him out.

Amir Khan isn't regarded by most as a big puncher but he destoryed Earl inside a minute.

That Amsonat dude I'd never heard of along with all the other Kat's victims.

Honestly I think even a faded Casa has enough to fuck him up.

I voted for a Casa points win in the comp as I think Casa isn't as fierce these days and will be content to win the rounds but Casa in his prime would whup Katsidis inside 4 or 5 rounds imo.

Katsidis loses his 0 tomorrow.

Indeed he's the bookies favourite as well and it seems the vast majority think he will beat Casamayor tomorrow.

How is it not valid? Lee was a prospect having never fought a top 10 ranked opponent. He was in his first step up fight, a fight he was expected to win.

Katsidis is a WORLD CHAMPION currently holding the WBO belt fighting an older champion who the bookies and vast majority of boxing experts and fans believe to have faded and that Katsidis will bulldoze through him.

It's the SAME thing, check the betting if you don't believe me Kats is a clear favourite, not just on here but in the boxing world.

But they and you are all WRONG, for tomorrow he will be badly exposed as a limited fighter.


As for my rep complaints, just wait in time you will come to appreciate ole Bilbo and his visionary genuis.

This new system is flawed, it doesn't reward consistency for being a member of the board over a period of time. It merely rewards good standing over a month.

Under the old system if you, Wacko or myself left the board for a month we would still have a great reputation based on our longstanding committment to the board over several years. A reputation was earned slowly.

Under the new system if you ( I mean you Mick personally here the proud owner of the site's best rep) left the board entirely for a month to go around the world, you would come back and half a dozen members would now have a better reputation on the site than you.

If you left for two months you'd probably slip outside the top 10.

So you see no longer is your reputation something meaningful reflecting your contribution to the site over many years but rather a reflection of your contribution over the past 4 weeks.

It's the equivilent of boxing experts putting Kelly Pavlik above Marvin Hagler in the All time p4p rankings based on his two wins over Jermain Taylor.

Picking up on its push to become a solid sports channel, ABS-CBN’s Studio 23 will telecast the projected war between Michael Katsidis of Australia and Cuba’s Joel Casamayor for the WBO lightweight title at the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon, California.


The telecast to be handled by veteran commentator Sev Sarmenta and analyst, Atty. Ed Tolentino will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Golden Boy Promotions vice president and international matchmaker Eric Gomez has likened Katsidis to all-action fighter Arturo Gatti who was also famous for being cut and bleeding profusely just like Katsidis.

Gomez was quoted by well-known boxing writer Ron Borges as saying “there’s not too much defense in Katsidis. He relies on his punching power. He’s a crowd pleasing fighter. He gets cut. He gets up. He hits like a mule. Fans love the excitement.”

Gomez said that in clashing with Casamayor, Katsidis is going up against an ageing champion “with a big reputation who’s been in a lot of wars. It's then history of boxing – the young, undefeated kid against the old lion. Now its up to him to deliver.

In his last fight, a title eliminator against Filipino southpaw Czar Amonsot who fought the fight of his life before losing by a unanimous decision in a brutal twelve round bout in which he had Katsidis in trouble but was unable to put him away allowing the bloodied and battered Katsidis to score two knockdowns that sealed the title fight for him.

In an epic blood and guts battle Katsidis fought through a deep gash over his left eye and cuts above and below his right to win in a brutal bout that ended the promising career of Amonsot who suffered slight bleeding in the brain.

The exciting Katsidis is undefeated with 20 knockouts in 23 wins and is regarded as one of the biggest, most relentless punchers in the lightweight division who is hoping that a win over Casamayor may be the first major step in a possible future showdown with newly-crowned WBC super featherweight champion and Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao who’s set to invade the lightweight ranks.

Casamayor, the former lightweight and junior lightweight champion is 36 years old has battled furiously against the likes of the late Diego Corrales, Acelino Freitas and Jose Luis Castillo. He defeated Corrales by split decision to win the lightweight title on October 7, 2006 and in his last bout on November 10, 2007 dropped a highly controversial split decision to Amando Santa Cruz at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Casamayor has a record of 35-3-1 with 21 knockouts.

Exactly BruceLee! His 10000 odd previous posts and the reputation he had built just means nothing in this new system, he has a worse rep than a newbie.

The new system is just completely unfair.

I like the "earning dollar figure" idea, like I see in other forum (which I'm not member of).

I don't rate the Kat that highly. Graham Earl almost knocked his arse out.

I think Kahn would beat on him quite easily tbh.

If he wins tonight....it's only becuase Casamayor has nothing left.

Katsidis really hasn't done much at all to get where he's at. I mean its not his fault, but he's one of those guys who just seemed to have a much easier route to stardom than most guys.

Anyways I've never rated him except for being exciting but Casamayor looked like such shit last time that I wouldn't be surprised if he won.
