Well i have to say the puertorican where was known as " El Radar "Wilfredo Benitez achieved in his 17 years old a World Title in JWW of the WBA and earned a $1Miliion. He took on the World Title in March/17/1976 to the Colombian Antonio Cervantes who was known as" Kid Pambele "and finished his career with a record of 52-8-1 in 1996 and was acknowledge in the International Hall of Fame. Who suffer of a several mental conditions by consequences of strikes that received in his head during his career, where his lesions impede him to communicate and express by himself. He going be the first in receive a lifetime pension for Ex Champions where was approved in P.R.. Other Great boxer that will benefit of this Help is Wilfredo Gomez where in 1977 won a World Title of SBW in WBC , he defended his Title 30 times in which won by KO to World Champs such as Sebastian Herrera , Lupe Anqueles , Carlos Slim and proved in other weights finishing his career with a record of 44-3-1 42KO , where was placed as the Best Boxer in P.R History and is training younger kids in Orlando Florida......... I make the exception to say this because is SAD when you see a Great Boxers Champ during his career earned a lot of money and then , today don't have nothing and have to turn to get a helps........:cool:

Very true. Long term fighters deserve a pension as many, cannot cope in the 9-5 world after their career is over. Many become physically or mentally disabled and need something to fall back on.
Boxing is a vicious employer and everything is about right here right now. If they could implement salary slicing such as current fighters, promoters, and trainers giving 5% of their gross to a retirement fund, it would help so many. For that though you would need government intervention as the sport has a lot of greed and would never volunteer for such a venture.

Hey Deanrw , i agree , i think if they give a % of their gross to retirement , they will pay less taxes too .......:cool:
