Such a fight is this where he has actually for once become the bad guy..
To take forbes a former world champ at what 125 130 pounds?.. Who now fights okay against ok competition at 140 pounds.. as a warm up for a floyd fight at 147.. and to not even make 147 for the warm up and have this little guy make a catch weight of 150.. is just crazy..
Forbes By frickinn Knockout YO!.. That would be the shit ;D

I always felt Juan Diaz was underrated.. When he was just the wbo champion fighting no named game fighters i thought he was one of the best and liked the guy, but stil gave him littl chance against frietas.. he done frietas, i knew he would have Julio Diaz but he looked better then i expected, was entertaining.. Then instead of going downhill he gets upset and falls of the cliff.. i dont think he was every really rated highly enough to say he was over rated alot of people i think kept it real and admitted he was good.. but didnt give him enough props to hype him too much

Re: 2008 - Year of the upset
Yeah there have been a few quality upsets so far this year. Makes things really interesting for the sport imo, forces you to try and look into upcoming matchups as much as possible, look for things you wouldn't have first thought about. Also reminds me to never criticize a big underdog for wanting to fight the best, they always see something we don't. I want to go out on a limb and pick the next great upset of this year but I can't think of a good possibility at the moment.
Re: 2008 - Year of the upset
Rees wasn't an upset. Vegas had him as the substantial underdog. You all just wanted him to win.
Re: 2008 - Year of the upset
I believe that this type of upsets are good for boxing, making it more interesting for the fans

Without upsets or the prospect of upsets, boxing would have been long dead.
upsets like gomez over cotto will kill boxing. not all upsets are good. Douglas over tyson was kinda bad for boxing also. it killed the invincibility of iron mike tyson. His ora captured the whole world, even non boxing fans knew him.
