I know Cassamayor didnt win convincingly but....
He won like a champion. I mean he's 36, Katsidis was all over him and he Knocked the shat out the guy. I respect him a great deal for finding that puch. Great ending to a good fight.
I know Katsidis deserves a re-match but i would like to see Joel take on Nate or Pac. Pretty spicy either way ;)

The title is a little confusing.
A ko is about as convincing as it gets. However, he did score a tko with a little early stoppage. I though Cass was on his way to getting beaten but he landed a great shot.
Ref stopped it a little soon. Kats was hurt, but he was trying to defend himself and could have gotten together again.

I thought the stoppage was pretty elementary... Kats had no legs after getting up from the KD, barely looked like he could continue, then chose to indeed charge in again and took a couple big shots which left him against the ropes, still with no legs. Don't know what anyone expects would have happened other than a legit KO, had the ref not stopped it.

There was like 2 minutes left. There was no way Katsidis was going to survive that. That's the reason why he and his corner didn't complain about the stoppage.
Re: I know Cassamayor didnt win convincingly but....
yep there was no complaint at all from Kats.... He knew he was out, I mean the guy will be shot by 33 the way he fights and takes punches at least this way he minimizes the excess miles on him

I've seen fighters survive rounds when they looked like that. Seen guys get knocked down 2 and 3 times in a round and comeback strong. As far as the stoppage, I felt it was a little early. Not an outright bad stoppage, just a little early. Kats was hurt but he wasn't out, he should have taken a knee, it's falling back against the ropes that gets a fight stopped.
I think Kats showed alot of class with his comments about the stoppage. He said, I was fighting so I don't know, the ref was doing his job. Good for him.

Not trying to split hairs with you, just when I read the title I expected much different comments. Good post anyway, just threw me off a little.
Re: I know Cassamayor didnt win convincingly but....
I think he did very well after he poor performance in his previous fight. used his experience and skill to his advantage and it paid off in the end. A rematch would be great but Joel would be looking for bigger money now.
Re: I know Cassamayor didnt win convincingly but....
Reminded me slightly of Eubank Watson 2.

I agree about the stoppage. It was somewhat premature, though its easy for me to sit back and say that. Katsidis bounced up from the kd too quickly though. A lesson to be learned for next time I guess.

But just because you have seen boxers survive other similar circumstances doesn't mean every boxer should be allowed to carry on and take a horrible beating. Because if we went by that logic then i guarantee you would be seeing a lot of boxers get permanent injuries, Katsidis was caught flush on the chin and he got caught coming in which was even worse, Katsidis got up and had no legs in fact i wouldn't of been disappointed if the ref stopped it right there and then. Katsidis or his team didn't complain or say it was stopped too early so why are you saying that ?? wouldn't Katsidis know better than any of us here ?? he knew how he felt and if he felt it was stopped too early he would of said end of, it was a good stoppage no doubt in my mind.

How ?? Eubank took a sustained beating and was knocked down badly in the 11th and then out of nowhere in final seconds landed an uppercut that caused Watson permanent injuries, Watson survived and comeback out for last round and took 10 unanswered punches i don't see the comparison ?? Eubank was miles behind on points and had to pull out dramatic uppercut to save himself, where as Katsidis vs Casamayor was close and Katsidis was down x2 in 1st, and Casamayor was knocked through the ropes in the 6th, and he pulled out vicious left hook right at the start of round 10, the number of knockdowns were different, and the circumstances were different. Like i said i don't see the comparison at all do you care to explain that one to me ??
Re: I know Cassamayor didnt win convincingly but....
in my opinion he won convincingly. can't be more convincing than a tko/ko win
