KO/TKO streak in middleweight title defenses?
While Brunson won the record for most consecutive 1st round KO's against bums, Arthur Abraham defended his Middleweight world title by stopping his opponent for the fourth time in a row. Whatever you might think of Ayala, that's not a bad streak actually.
Anyway, it got me thinking - what's the longest streak of KO/TKO's in middleweight title defenses? After a few minutes on boxrec to brush up my memory, I could conclude that Carlos Monzon did 4 (twice), Bernard Hopkins managed 5, while Marvin Hagler had a streak of 7 (up until Duran).
Am I correct in assuming that this is the record? Or do the always knowledgeable posters of Saddo remember a better streak? And how do things look in other divisions?

Yes that is the record and as for the other division's.
Heavyweight = Joe Louis 7 and Larry Holmes 7 tie.
Cruiserweight = Evander Holyfield 5 Juan Carlos Gomez 5 tie.
I'll do some more later but i gave you a few examples there.

It is a pretty good streak, but you have to consider the quality of opposition regardless if they are for a title or not.

You would be right Mikkel..
'Finito' Lopez holds 8 TKO/KO wins in title defenses.
Galaxy holds 8 TKO/KO wins in title defenses.
If I'm not mistaken 'Bazooka' Gomez holds the record for most consecutive TKO/KO wins in title defenses with 14.
