My new personal hero, the human spider
As I begin my training for my mountain climb at the end of the summer one man Alain Robert has become my inspiration.
Known as the human spider he was featured on a channel 4 documentary last night. He's the world's greatest climber of man made structures and has climbed 80 of the tallest buildings in the world, with NO saftey equipment whatsoever.
He climbed Sears Tower, right to the top using just his bare hands. Until 1998 this was the tallest building in the world! :o:o:o

He often dresses as spiderman hence the name.
This thread is a tribute to him, really these videos have to be seen to be belived :o
A legend

Re: My new personal hero, the human spider
That's just absolutley insane... Aside from the physical ability to do that which there probably isn't many people on earth who could physically climb 2 stories with their bare hands,,,, mentaly that would take the ultimate strength, concentration, patience and determination...
Image him trying to get life insurance though :)
Re: My new personal hero, the human spider
What makes it even more crazy is that he's an epileptic and according to doctors should be disabled after a massive fall 20 years ago left him with major injuries including brain trauma.
He's got kahuna's the size of water melons ;D
Re: My new personal hero, the human spider
That has to be the ultimate rush
Re: My new personal hero, the human spider
Amazing stuff. The guy has courage in spades. I would probably have jumped in surprise at the people observing him in the 3rd video and plummeted to my death. He just looks up and grins!! What a man!! :o;D
Re: My new personal hero, the human spider
He's a better man than I am; no doubt. What a silly head. I wouldn't climb a stop-sign, much less the Sears Tower:D
Bilbo; anyone who leaves their house is probably your hero:lickish:
Re: My new personal hero, the human spider
amazing..
how's that for some motivation to workout? talk about boxers having to train and workout and exercise so that they don't hurt themselves in the ring.. how about i have to continue to workout and keep my strength up because i'm climbing a building tomorrow.. :o
Re: My new personal hero, the human spider
The guy is fucking amazing. Without any safety ropes/devices, You gotta have some balls of steel to attemp something like that. I noticed he's very limber too.
