Hey Everyone,
I'm thinking about getting started with boxing at 31. I've done some martial arts and I've thought about getting back into that, but I've always wanted to box and I need the competition to motivate me and channel stress. Right now, I'm 5'10" 205, but I'm not in great shape right now, but I know how to get back in shape if I need it. Two years ago, with a 14% bodyfat, I was 178. I could do three sets of 10 dips with a 25lb weight added and chinups in sets of 12, 10, and 6. I could do very intense cardio and whole body exercises. My diet was good and I hit the gym 4 times per week on average. I hit a plateau with weight loss around 180 (I stepped on the scales a few times at 175). I could get stronger, build more endurance, etc, but my body didn't seem to want to go much below 180. I felt very good at that weight.
Now to my point - what is the BFP of a typical light heavy and super-middle weight fighters? Can you be "in shape" for boxing at 12-15% body fat?
