Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
Personally this does nothing for me but I'm sure some people care so have at it
Apparently its in serious discussions for September or October on HBO. Don King's been talking to Trinidad Sr. and boxingscene has King quoted talking about it. If Trinidad was to win (probably a big if but who knows) then they would try to put him in with the winner of Hopkins-Calzaghe :-\ Apparently Trinidad Sr. wants the Hopkins fight the most but they need a Taylor fight first.
Apparently this would be another celebrity boxing catch weight fight somewhere between 168 and 175.

Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
I'd rather see Taylor/Miranda or Taylor/Andrade sometime this year.
Would be an interesting fight though, between Tito and Jermaine.

Yea OumaFan good information they are negotiating for fight in September or October with Taylor , Calzaghe and B.Hopkin......;D
Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
It's an ok fight. I would rather see Taylor and Miranda. Miranda should really get under Taylor's skin and make an exciting fight.
Tito doesn't have the power in this weight class to be a major factor. His fights are always pretty entertaining but it's a little less in these higher weight classes.
Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
I actually like this match-up.It shows us just exactly were both fighters are.Could Jermain Taylor still be a champion at 168 lbs? Or could Tito still have some fight left in him to get a title shot if he beats Taylor. I like it.

Same here . I like this fight . Both fighters coming off losses like Judah - Shane but that ensures they have even more to fight for .
I wasnt disapointed with Tito last time after I thought I would be . He looked alot better than he did vs Winky . Taylor likewise probably salvaged his rep with the Pav rematch and I think these two match up well.
Good fight . Hope it happens .
Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
In Don King Evaluation , Tito convene to fight with J.Taylor because have the opportunity to KO J.Taylor and reestablish like a great hitter again.
In that way then will have the opportunity to challenge for a Title fight in SMW Div. with Calzaghe or B.Hopkin , though a rematch with B.Hopkin even if he loss the fight with Calzaghe.......
"Soo there are the options that i will give my vote , but i going let Titos father to take the decision , he is Genius , commented Don King".......:-\
Although King recognized that a fight between Hopkin/Tito is more attractive , but also is more hard to negotiate because then Hopkin will be more conceited and demanding a bigger pay check......

Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
Yeah I definetly think it's a good fight, sort of a crossroads fight which I always like. I'd personally consider Taylor a huge favourite, but Tito is always deserving of a serious punchers chance. Just not too sure if his power will be enough of an equalizer if Taylor can use his jab well, as I thought he did for the most part against Pavlik(though still not enough) in their rematch. I do look forward to seeing Taylor again though, I thought his last fight was the best he has looked over 12 rounds since first beating Hopkins, I also had him winning by a point. To me it's interesting to see if he can pick up where he left off there, or whether he is destined to be one of those inconsistent type fighters.
Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions

Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
I like the fight Tito has to redeem himself.
Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
Wow, I'm surprised there are some people here claiming this fight does nothing for them.
Taylor is coming off two losses, and for that reason he would have every right to take a very easy fight to get back in the win column. I don't care how old Tito is or what he weighs, he's still not an easy opponent. This would be an entertaining matchup. I don't see where the disappointment comes from. Miranda is a nice fighter and all, but let's not make him out to be something he's not.
Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
Interesting fight and tough to call, Whats sad though is even though they both lost their last 2 fights it will probably be ppv. Id favor Taylor by decision though.
Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
You know what, Not much thought here..But I really like this match up.I would like to see Tito take a Primer fight first.Taylor is coming off good all beit a losing effort,He rebounded well and kept things close with Pavlik.Has to be Very confident and going forward where as Tito looked decent Vs. Jones, KD's aside, but I think regaining A "Winning" Aura (Retirements,Shut out by Wright Etc)...is very Important going into another top tier fighter.Nice match the more I think about it.
Re: Trinidad-Taylor in discussions
I say throw Tito in there rather than my boy Mayorga. So I'll be happy if these two fight. Plus Tito would stand a decent chance of KO'n Taylor, not a good chance, but a decent one.
