Re: Welterweights Take Center Stage In Atlantic City...
if cotto comes through this as he should and then fights the winner of margarioto/cintron which should be cintron, were does he go after that ??
i dont see their being any reason to fight paul williams after him being beat by quintana and other than floyd i dont see a worthwhile fight for cotto that could increase his popularity
Re: Welterweights Take Center Stage In Atlantic City...
What a great double header. If this turns into a Cotto/Margarito battle in a few months will be in heaven.
I cannot pick a winner between them. They will kill each other.

This Is the fight I want,Pure Intensity from both and contrasting styles.Cotto looks to be upgrading with some Boxing ability combined with weathering body assault and All around skills.A Big Conflict with Cintron ahead for Margarito.....top notch rematch and I do believe Tony will prevail.Love his arsenal of punches and apparent (?) realization that Starting fast is Immportant.Margarito Vs. Cotto Would be sensational,But first things first for each. One fight at a time!
Re: Welterweights Take Center Stage In Atlantic City...
I think Cintron will beat Margarito this time around

I hope this fight last long. If Margarito comes ready to war like he went for Golden Jonhson wow what a fight, as for Cintron he already said that this is the fight he has been waiting for a long time so I take it he is getting ready as well.
Now this could be another FOTY contender

The first time they fought Cintron was coming off of a 9 month lay off an a injury, even though Margarito will be no pushover this fight will be more competive than the first

So simple, yet so profoundly correct. I have wet dreams about this fight. What true boxing fan could not want to see this fight?

Hopefully Berto can become a big enough name by that time to draw some attention. As I seam to remember a shit load of people on here claiming that Berto would beat Cotto.
I would LOVE to see him try. :D
Actually scratch that I would PAY to see him try.
I'm gonna go out crazy style here and say he'll give 154 a shot late 2008 early 2009.
Forrest might still be there and more importantly for him ODLH will be there.

Marg KTFO Cintron in a much tougher and super exciting fight the second time before heading into August to KTFO Cotto(who's my other boy but I don't think he can beat Tony) and then he'l KTFO someone else. It's Tony's year.:cool:

In a brawl yes Margarito can beat Cotto but you forget Cotto has underrated boxing skills. Plus he can fight on the back foot like he had to do vs Ndou. Plus Cotto's hooks would get there first because he throws his punches much lshorter than Margarito. I can see Cotto out boxing Margarito over 12 rounds, but i can also see Margarito stopping Cotto in a brawl. It depends on how Cotto approaches the fight. But you never know El Gamo we might see Gomez pull off the upset then we can see Gomez vs Margarito ;D

Don't forget we got a bet if Margarito vs. Cotto ever comes off. ;)
