Boxing Perspective: Where Can Clinton Woods Go From Here?
On 7 November, 2002, Clinton Woods was to have his first taste of the water from across the other side of the pond. It wasnʼt good. Dismantled in six rounds by the great Roy Jones Jr, it took the Sheffield man almost six years to go back again. The water was no nicer.
After 12 rounds of uninspiring boxing last weekend from Woods, a unanimous decision loss to Antonio Tarver crushed any hope of a British super fight with Joe Calzaghe this autumn... Full Boxing Article here...

He can still perform better than that, yet he won't get the opportunity and is getting older. To long a road back at his age. He'll regret that effort the rest of his life, Antonio was there for the taking.
Re: Boxing Perspective: Where Can Clinton Woods Go From Here?
Tarver was just way too slick and his style baffled Clinton all the way through,Clinton just couldn't sustain any attcks he tried and when he did back Tarver up he just rolled away time and time again.
Clinton just looked robotic to me and his hands were way too high to get any leverage in those punches.
I don't see where he goes from here!!

I didn't watch his fight with Tarver, heard it was boring and disapointing especially from Wood's side.
I do not know why he wouldn't throw more punches or fight with any sense of urgency.
You Brits love the guy for his blue collar work ethic but he blew it last time out it appears.
Honestly do you guys want to see him fight Johnson AGAIN?

Yes. And I'm sure Woods wouldn't mind it also cuz Johnson didn't really go anywhere as far from Ring ranking.
Many people believe Johnson defeated Dawson that night.
Re: Boxing Perspective: Where Can Clinton Woods Go From Here?
The Dawson-Johnson fight was a close one, and the fans clearly wern't happy with the decision.
Woods sounded very downbeat after the fight. I truely believe he wants to give up now!
Re: Boxing Perspective: Where Can Clinton Woods Go From Here?
Clint's still a great fight but maybe its time to hang them up.
Re: Boxing Perspective: Where Can Clinton Woods Go From Here?
He has given such wonderful performances while others (Calzaghe, Hatton) were'nt delivering. Amazing he got so ignored for so long!!
Re: Boxing Perspective: Where Can Clinton Woods Go From Here?
If you get a chance watch Clint's fight against Ole Klementsen for one of the sweetest finishes ever! You really felt for him!
