Will handgrips help your wrists support the impact when you punch?
When it comes to not being able to hit with full power due to the wrists buckling at impact, will handgrips help build your wrists up? I've heard some people say that handgrips and wrist curls won't help strengthen them so that you can punch harder... :dontknow:

I dunno, but I do know that I have unusually small wrists and they were very weak too, but after hitting the bag for months, I can give the bag my best punch and my wrists will still feel like concrete.

Wrist and grip strengthening exercises will definately help but to some degree, the only thing that will really train the muscles and tendons/ligaments to handle that sort of impact is practice. I had the same problem when I started hitting the heavy bag recently for the first time in years. But after a month or so, it wasn't as much of a problem and now, even at 238 pounds, I can hit the bag with almost everything I've got without holding back much.
I didn't do handgrip exercises, but instead, made a point to play tug-o-war with my dogs every day and focused on moving my hand back and fourth to really work the muscles in my forearm. That definately helped speed things up. :)

duuude, go buy yourself a powerball!
it could be due to the technique your using on the bag... you sure your hitting it right?
other than that, try strengthening the foreamr muscles. if they arent strong enough to absorb the impact all the shock will go to the wrists.
