For those of us who can't attend "Coachella" this year.
Alright as some of you may or may not know it's Coachella time.
I've been there once on the 1st official year it was held in '99 my senior year in HS. That was the shit!!!
We saw: J5, Beck, the chemical brothers, Modest Mouse, Morrissey, RATM Tool, Perry Farrel... THe shit!!!
For those of you who've never heared of Coachella and would like to know what it's about then read this:
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly known as Coachella) is a three-day (formerly a one or two-day) annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. The event features many genres of music including alternative rock, hip hop, and electronica as well as large sculptural art. The event has several stages/tents set-up throughout the grounds, each playing live music continuously. The main stages are: Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent (2006 also saw the addition of a smaller Oasis Dome).
The Coachella Music Festival has a desert setting (the city of Indio is a part of the Colorado Desert), with daytime temperatures frequently rising to over 100°F (38°C). The festival enjoys little cloud cover or shade. The temperature drops drastically after sunset.

Anyway what I'm trying to get to is that this year, leading radio station and world wide known KROQ will have a LIVE WEB CAM throughout the weekend... :appl: Now I don't know about you guys but to me that's good enough. Knowing that I can't make it, I'm all for getting a glimpse of it.

Re: For those of us who can't attend "Coachella" this year.
I never been to Coachella but I went to a huge rave at the Polo Grounds, that place is cool, especially in the summer time because you can be wearing shorts and t-shirt all night no chill, and the grass is nice and cool. I like that place.....sssshh , hey theres a huge area you can hop the fence , just gotta make sure you don't see any yellow jackets ;) That place is huge. Yes Prince is gonna be there...lol. Game blouses.
Re: For those of us who can't attend "Coachella" this year.
I worked in Coachella on and off for about half year. Their city, along with the Torres indian reservation hired my company to do some job for them. It was nasty and scary. We were at their dumpsite, laying out some aerial targets for topography, and these guys pull a gun on us. They told us to GTFO of their land. The sherrif department even refused to escort us.
Re: For those of us who can't attend "Coachella" this year.
all this talk of coachella reminds me of the biggest 90's music fest: Lollapolooza (spelling?)
Re: For those of us who can't attend "Coachella" this year.
or the biggest 90's LESBO music fest: Lilith Fair? LOL

I live in Highland. I see Pac is in Ontario, we got some locals around here.....
Re: For those of us who can't attend "Coachella" this year.
I was looking at the line up and the artists this year are a mixed bag.
I think in one of the past years they had the Chili Peppers and Mars Volta and I wanted to go bad: smoke reefer and drink beer in the hot desert sun.
Most of this years artists are meh.
I cant stand Jack Johnson. Guy has no musicianship...he's just laid back and apparently being laid back and pro environment sells records even if your music sucks:confused:
He came out with that environmentally sound album  He shouldve helped the environment even more and not come out with ANY album
Re: For those of us who can't attend "Coachella" this year.
rep for that link Mick.. that's a great idea that they came up with..
i'm pumped that Manchester Orchestra is playing on a big stage like this.. they deserve all the recognition they get..
I went to something called Skate and Surf the year i graduated high school and it was possible 3 of the best days of my life.. it was in Asbury Park, NJ
150 bands over the course of 3 days.. 5 stages each day, and the lineup was absolutely incredible..
and as much as Asbury Park sucks, our hotel/bed and breakfast was literally right across the street from the boardwalk and ocean.. so we'd have our continental breakfast in the morning.. walk 50 feet to the beach and hang for an hour or two til we headed over to where the bands were playing.. GREAT TIME.
