sparring, I really have no idea when this was, must have been a fairly young Mosley, have no idea how old Chavez was.
Hard to take too much from sparring, don't know if Chavez (or Mosley) was just working on something. Also I assume it was Chavez' camp and Mosley was brought in so you never know how many rounds Chavez had sparred before this. Still interesting.

This must have been on like page 124 or something.
I wish there was a year on the video or something to estimate the year. I can only think that Mosley was brought in to help Chavez prepare for someone specific with the hand speed.

I just saw this for the 1st time and will tell you that Mosley was about 18 or 19 yrs old and that this was the same sparring session that a 16 yr old Delahoya sparred with Chavez. I know this because I have a VHS copy of Chavez sparring with a young Delahoya that i received over 17 yrs ago, and it's the same exact footge that you see here , except that a young Hoya is in there with Chavez, not Mosely.
I just checked into it and calculated that this was right before the 1st Chavez/Taylor fight in 1990. That explains why Chavez was sparring with the two young speedsters.
Man...that was top notch ,Ive seen the same "Noise" infested version.Oscar really was sharp shooting an Agree able Chavez and in the 3rd spar round DeLAhoya got cocky,busted Chavez and Chavez proceeded to unleash to the body/Straight right and put The Oscar on his Knee Hard..........end of session :fight: Love the live Band in between rounds ;DQuote:
