Re: Boxing training theorys
Nice Idea very inventive.
For me, I have sparred on a raised platform, with no ropes. That way you won't get caught in corners or stuck on the ropes as you will be forced of the platform. Develops good movement.
Re: Boxing training theorys
interesting to say the least. update us with your progree with it.
I actually used a metronome for spinning....set the bpm and stay with it. It kep me far omre honest that I was without it.
Re: Boxing training theorys

Re: Boxing training theorys
well i tried my idea the day i posted it. it didnt work as well as i thought cuz the bag moves and as you more around the bag you lose the beat somewhat... but im still using it as a timer and i try to only miss 1 -3 beats when moving around the bag..

Re: Boxing training theorys
Something I tried was whenever walking, I'll throw a punch when I put one foot down, and then throw a punch with the other hand when I put the other foot down. Sometimes I'll throw a right punch when my right foot lands (or left punch when left foot lands). Then I'll switch to throwing a left punch when right foot lands and left punch when right foot lands.
While this probably won't help technique or anything like that, it'll probably boost speed and endurance and help develop the muscles. (It also makes a great warmup).
What do the rest of you on this site think? :)
Re: Boxing training theorys
Here is one i like....
So i have my IPOD with the track of the bell ringing 2 mins go buy then it rings again then i rest then one minute then agains.. so on and so on.... well i have a buz that goes at the 30 second warning. and at that point i throw al out as fast as i can non stop punches up and down the bag.
i realy like doing this cuz you cant realy cheat yourself. if you do stuff like that in the middle or start, then you tend to coast at the end.
anyone else do this?
