Do you thinks that Oscar vs Floyd will be an another imitation fight ?

I really like Oscar and I'm one of his fan too , but i always see that he continue to be the best pay boxer ...............;)
Oscar first is an Executive and then a Boxer , always want earn the most amount of money possible and with the less of shots possible.......;)

Do you guys think that this fight between Oscar vs Floyd will be an another imitation fight ?

Although , i don't know why he in the end of the fight , in the interview he commented , that now he will not going fight Cotto in December , because his wife asked him to not fight any other Puertorican boxer.....:-\

Do you think that he is avoiding this fight for something or just would want to see how could be his performance in the fight with Floyd for then take another decision?

I think it's clear Oscar wants the fights with Floyd because that is the biggest possible matchup, not just in terms of money but as a global event as well.

I don't blame him at all for wanting to take the fight, nor Floyd for that matter. Any of us if offered a list of potential opponents and one of them offered several times more money than the others, and the opportunity to fight in one of the biggest PPV events in boxing history would immediately and without hesitation choose that guy.

So he's right to want to fight Floyd and vice versa, even though we the hardcore fans would rather better matchups.

I also think Oscar genuinely believes he can beat Floyd. He's a proud man and isn't doing this just for the payday.

He'll want to win, even though we all know he wont :)

I'll the the first to say that and it's true. By the way, Oscar would make more money off of fighting Cotto, being as that Cotto won't demand as much pay on his side of the bargain, AND hard core fans would back up this pay per view.

In conclusion:
Oscar, just as Floyd... is using his status to avoid Cotto.

There is no way Cotto-Oscar would make more money than this rematch will... Floyd has grown way too big in the States which is where ppv numbers are counted for more money to be made by Oscar fighitng Cotto. Cotto isn't anywhere near the name Mayweather is... yet. Nor does he fill that role of somebody who the crowd wants to see get his ass kicked.

I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed Hoya/Mayweather. I thought Hoya had MAyweather's number and was doing great till he hit the wall and ran out of gas going into the last few rds.

That's all I can say. It has nothing to do with Floyd being popular,
and has everything to do with DLH potentially being knocked out in a thriller.

As much as the ppv crowd is stupid, the people are smart to a potentially blockbuster showcase, between a relentless entertaining fight that's never happened just yet.

Oscar Floyd was a snoozer. Just listen to the people on this site alone, many don't want this fight.

Now Oscar Cotto.... I don't care how popular Cotto is, THAT WOULD SALE. B-)

The thing that I'm confused about is who to root for. These are prob my two least fav fighters out there today.

Just by saying Mayweather-oscar was a snoozer makes me unlikely to trust anything that you could say. That fight was boring at all unless you have no actual concept of what a good fight is. It was a showcase of great skill, ring generalship, they even showed heart. Mayweather opted to stand toe to toe with Oscar far more than anyone anticipated, and there were many exciting yet ineffective flurries thrown by Oscar. As for Mayweather having nothing to do with the success of Mayweather-De La Hoya, then why did this fight do twice as good as almost any other Oscar fight ever? Why did it break virtually every PPV record out there? Mayweather had a lot to do with its success, and now he is only more recognizable than he was in the first fight. HIs numbers against Hatton were great in States, and obviously it sold over a million buys in the UK as well. Cotto did pretty good against Judah and Mosley, but most people don't know who he is. Oscar-Floyd was mistakingly labelled a split decision, and to the untrained eye Oscar may have looked like he won. So there are a lot of uneducated people who will want to watch this again because they are under the illusion that the last fight was close. As for Cotto vs De La Hoya, Cotto has the most boring personality in boxing, I love his style, but he will never draw the large crowds until they see him fight. It would take a fight with Oscar to bring him into the spotlight, and then he would be able to draw huge crowds, but until then he definitely isn't as big of a star as MAyweather, and uneducated people will just think he's another name coming up to fight Oscar, especially after Mayweather beats Oscar again. Either way your wrong.

Same with Iron MIke... Oscar made the fight competitive to a degree, but Mayweather clearly won the first and second half of the fight. Oscar couldn't land hardly anything effectively, and Mayweather was countering and peppering Oscar with jabs. I saw Hatton landing better punches than Oscar against Floyd, but at the very end FLoyd gave up his defense and took a huge left hook which I think made his eye swell up so bad. Regardless if people think Mayweather-Oscar II will be a snoozer they definitely have their head up their ass...

Well Teath , i agree in some of your read , but when you say that he will never draw a large crowd until they see him fight , i really don't agree on that , everybody knows Cotto and know what he can do inside the ring that is " Fight " and i don't know how some people can say that he will never draw a large crowd , when the whole world want see those fight , that mean that he can fill up any place of fans and that is a guarantee of how money they could make in those fight , Why they don't give him the chance ? , now Oscar say that his wife don't want him fight any other Puertorican boxer , a fight that could open his horizon , that is not a Cottos fault if any good boxers wont fight him and then everybody keep saying that he isn't in the level like them , in my opinion that is an strategy that try to opaque of how Cotto can show that he is one of the best boxer in the same level..............

I'm not 100% sure. But if I remember correctly, by round 6 I had De La Hoya winning the fight by a good margin. Then De La Hoya got too cautious and then Mayweather began to pop him.

Some articles say that De La Hoya looked good late against Forbes but I'll tell you this, Forbes isn't Mayweather.

WRONG. OScar will not make as much fighting Cotto as he will fighting Floyd, that's rediculous. Its true that they would get away with paying Cotto less than they would Floyd, but they aren't going to generate near the PPV revenue and ticket sales that a Oscar/PBF rematch will. Floyd Mayweather is a house hold name now. Cotto, outside of Puerto Rico, is not. Floyd generates more interest because he is the perfect badguy to oppose ODLH, the perfect good guy. People hate Floyd and will tune in to watch ODLH try to avenge the loss.

With Cotto you get someone the general public really has no opinion on, and due to his lack of English and generally calm demeanor really doesn't do much to sell a fight for the general public.

The hardcore boxing fans are not enough to support a fight, as most of them are just reading PbPs, watching it on Sopcast or downloading it from a website afterwards.

Oscar didn't come close to winning the first half of the fight... to have him ahead by a good margin is insane
