The Cage
Does it diminish the integrity of the sport? I think most of us had the view that Pride was the superior league with superior fighters, whereas the UFC has a decent pool of talent with the majority of guys being muscle headed thugs. We now kow, for the most part, that that wasn't exactly accurate.
but was this the image of the cage taking hold? Would the sport appeal to more mainstream audiences if it was a ring, which tends to be accompanied by a more professional and accepting image?

Re: The Cage
Im not sure tbh I know I prefare it 2 b in a Cage, its a bit anoying when there stoping the fight all the time in Pride 2 move it away from the ropes,it stops the flow of the fight.

Re: The Cage
I prefer the cage...I suppose you could substitue the wire for a clear plastic, but you still have the same basic setup

Re: The Cage
I think that the shape is essential. The size is also a benefit to some fighters.
But the cage does indeed add a sinister aura to the hostilities.
However, my next option would be a pit, similar to those employed in thailand, but they provide poor visibilty unless the stands overlook them like in the colisseum.
