I just read on fightnews that my boy! Tavoris Cloud is gonna step up the competition and face Julio Gonzalez in a IBF Eliminator.
How Julio get's an eliminator bout coming off 2 loses is beyond me.. :confused:
Been saying it for a while this kid Tavoris has skills and would love to see a future fight between he and BCD.
That would be something special if it ever comes off.

Anyways, Cloud is not exactly the flashiest guy out there. But I like him because his a humble guy. And I believe he can bring more excitements north of LHW divisions someday.
I heard about this about a month ago but at the time it was just a rumor. The IBF loves Gonzalez because he's never been in a boring fight and I don't blame them. I like Gonzalez a lot.
But he's chinny, straight up and clumsy. He seems tailor made for the power punching Cloud. I wouldn't be surprised if this one ended very early.
Cool, only seen two(short) of Cloud's fights but he definetly looks powerful and seems to set up his shots well behind the jab... Actually come to think about it I've only seen Gonzalez fight twice as well, against Roy Jones and Julian Letterlough(GREAT fight for anyone who hasn't seen this one, some crazy KD's). He definetly doesn't have a good chin, but he could fight and I haven't seen him at all recently so I won't rule him out.l
Julio Gonzalez has only gotten worse unfortunately. He's just so easy to hit, but to his credit he always has something coming back after he gets hit. He went life and death with Vitali Kopitko in what was a great fight but had he not been the favorite and dominating beforehand the fight would have been stopped I mean he was OUT. Great fight.
I had no idea he lost his last fight to be honest.
I hope this one gets picked up on TV.
I was looking into this a bit more and...
Tarver holds the IBF title BUT we all know BCD will more then likely face Tarver 1st before the winner of Tavoris-Julio.
With that being said since I think BCD will beat Tarver and I think Tavoris will beat Julio. It appears that I might actually get to see Tavoris vs. BCD sooner rather then later... :lickish:
Gutted because I like both kids and I think they are both very talented however I think BCD will beat Tavoris if they face eachother.
It's a good fight for him, Gonzalez is one tough mutha and Cloud needs some decent rounds under his belt if he is going to challenge for a world title after this fight.
You asked how Gonzalez got this fight going from 2 previous losses, I guess both the losses were for world titles, John Ruiz fought 10 fights in a row all for world titles and then an eliminator and that included 4 losses.
Some guys are just what you want in a challenger, they are recognised as good enough to be there but you know they are there to be beaten.
If you were Clouds people who would you rather fight the likes of Gonzalez or someone a bit more dangerous like Henry or Diaconu.
I think Cloud get it on points and it will the workout he needs
