The Welter Weight Division is some funny shiet!

I love this division.

We have belts exchanging hand faster than a rabbit gets shagged ;D

So many fights here to be made and with one more belt free from the grips of little satan himself, it will be even more explosive.

Cotto destorys Q and Cotto wins belt :)

Williams beats Tony and Williams wins belt.

Williams loses to Q and Q wins belt back

Tony destroys Cintron and Tony wins a belt back ;D

Williams from hell triple destroys the Q and the Williams wins belt.

These fools are going to be going back and forth at this.

No doubt that Cintron can win a belt again and so can the Q.

It's an exciting division that's for sure

It's a shame they don't all weigh over 200 pounds. Boxing would be huge if we had a talented bunch of heavyweights. Same for the super bantams. Imagine a 240 pound Israel Vazquez. :)

It has always been a great division. I don't think it has ever gone more then 6-8 months with a lull or without a supersatar P4P.

Griffith, Naploes, Palomino, Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard, Hearns, Mosley, De La Hoya, Trinidad, Margarito, Cotto, Breland, Quartey, Curry, Cuevas, Napoles, Coles, Brown, Duran. I can not name them all without looking up boxrec.

I think it will always be the greatest division in boxing hands down talent wise. I was started off in this sport watching the welterweight division. It has been the saviour of boxing more then once. It will continue to do so when need be.

I've just started downloading Cotto fights and he is great to watch, so quick and powerful. Would hate to be hit with that rib breaker of a left hook. Just an exciting division really, looking forward to Cotto-Margarito that will be an awsome fight.

I really don't think Israel Vazquez would be that effective at 240.:p

I understand what you are saying though about having heavyweights that exciting.

I really think it is more on how the media plays the divisions up then anything though. If they gave as much attention to guys in the low weight classes they would blow up as attractions. For some reason it seems that the mainstream media has cut the sport off at 135 for so many years people tend to think that is as low as the boxers go.

I was having a conversation about Jorge Arce once and this guy asked what weight he fought at, after I told him his reply was

"They allow guys that small to fight?"
