So what is Joan Guzman doing?
Has there been any news lately, I know he was calling out Nate Campbell.
There's got to be a fight for him somewhere, although promoters tend to have the "he's boring" line down pat, pathetic.
He needs to move, he's got P4P ability, no more time to waste.
Re: So what is Joan Guzman doing?
I've heard HBO is pushing for Diaz/Casamayor and Campbell/Guzman. As much as I want Casa to rematch Campbell, I still like the idea of Nate and Guzman fighting.
Re: So what is Joan Guzman doing?
I like Nate but I don't think that's a good matchup for him. Hopefully his promoters disagree.
Re: So what is Joan Guzman doing?
Anyone who says he's boring loses all credibility for me. I agree he's P4P talent I think he might be the most talented fighter in boxing with Floyd retired. I really hope he fights soon his inactivity is killing me more then Winky's since he's in his prime.
Re: So what is Joan Guzman doing?
His inactivity is a joke.
He obviously can't land certain fights because he is too good for his own good, and can be avoided (i agree..labeling him with the boring tag is pathetic :beat:) but his attitude (weight making problems) is poor

Good point. It would be much more pathetic for promoters to label him as boring or a non commodity, if he didn't bring it upon himself by giving people reasons to be hesitant to work with him.. He's failed to make weight and/or pulled out of several fights now to my knowledge. I really want to see him in a big fight as well, it's annoying. He could, and probably would beat anyone at lightweight currently if you ask me.
Re: So what is Joan Guzman doing?
I wouldn't go as far as boring, because he's got the goods. It just seems like at time's he's coasting and doing just enough to win rounds. He's not a finisher, but to each his own. He is very fast, he also is a Mayweather clone, the style resemblance is almost the same.
Re: So what is Joan Guzman doing?
As per Dan Rafael of ESPN.COM-
The Champ, Casamayor has until tomorrow to sign Don King's contract for a fight with Campbell. (as per the WBO purse bid). If Casamayor decides to fight Juan Diaz instead, then the WBO will strip him of his interim-title and make Guzman the Mandatory for Campbells WBO title.
Accordingly, Guzman is waiting to find out what Casamayor decides, before making his next move.
Also, there is a good chance that if Casamayor takes the Diaz fight and Cambell takes the JMM fight, Guzman will fight for the vacant WBO title.

I think he'd beat anyone around the weight.
Although he's so inactive it wont be a surprise if he loses it all of a sudden.
Re: So what is Joan Guzman doing?
On kind of a related note, has anyone seen Guzman's brother in action? I've seen videos of him sparring and he looks very good, a lot like his brother. I don't remember his name though. He also has a prospect that is very good too but somehow both their names are slipping my mind somehow right now.
