Just wondered what everyones thoughts are of their upcoming fight (now at coventry skydome june 20). This fight is big news round these parts. Live on sky whats everyone's predictions? I'm hoping for mcdermott to walk away with the belt but i'm unsure whether he can pull it off.

I still remeber the Murray fight but if we call that a blip then I think Elcocks the guy with the better talent and will take it on points .

Elcock has clearly the better form. He didn't do too bad against AA. I thought he'd getted stopped much faster (although thats possibly down to Abraham's style).

is this fight off? As I'm going to another show (in wolverhampton) on the same night but its just said on the wolverhampton civic website to arrive earlier as that show is now being filmed by sky, but friday fight night was sposed to be elcock vs mcdermott. Surely its not been postponed again.
sorry to answer my own question but just found out that the elcock vs mcdermott fight has been moved from coventry and added to the top of the bill of the wolverhampton show! Which is great news for me! It truly is gonna be a battle of the midlands, and with many other wolverhampton/black country boxers on the bill mcdermott could feel that home advantage and maybe pull it off.

I had a 10 minute car journey to the Skydome and now well, I don't fancy an hour plus trip on the M6 on Friday evening to get to Wolverhampton!

McDermott started slower than I expected. But the fight was shaping up great. Thought it was stopped a bit quick, but that's from the TV :-\

I know mate, its a stupid rule! And now Mcdermott's always gonna have that "loss" on his record. Was well pi$$ed off on the night but looking on tv the cut seemed worse, i still reckon they should've given him time inbetween the rounds & then if it was no better call it off.Quote:
