Omar Chavez
Omar Chevez, the younger brother of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and son of Boxing great Julio Cesar Chavez has just fought into a DRAW against Miguel Hernandez who had a record of 0 wins 10 loses and 2 draws coming into the fight. Chavez now 10-0-1 (8 ko's) is considered by most a very talented prospect. I for one thought that he was going to be much better than his brother Chavez jr. I don't know anymore. I mean you could have a bad night but a bad night against a 0-10 fighter who has gotten ko'ed 6 times means you either had the worst day of your life or maybe just maybe you are not what people expect. Thats just my opinion. Well he could have lost to make it worst. Any comments........
Ohh and by the way this is the second time they fight with Chavez obviously winning the first bout but by SD.

Re: Omar Chavez
What's up mike?
Hope all is good with you.
Damn! I had forgotten that Omar was fighting this weekend on the undercard of the Yory Boy Campas vs. "Terra" Garcia card.
Really surprised at that result, I mean I'm with you. I thought Omar was more athletically built then Jr. and Omar def. looked more impressive early on. Omar showed handspeed, footwork and lots of talent.
Well he didn't look good in his last fight and now this... Its time to think long and hard and decide whether this is something he wants to keep doing.
By the way, Yory Boy TKO'd Garcia in round 1.

Re: Omar Chavez
Sup Robert,
Yeah i just dont know anymore. I mean my first intuition about this guy was that he looked pretty good and i saw good things for him in the future. Well i'll still go with my first thoughts and still hope this kid does good. Maybe like you said he needs to sit down and realize what he wants to do because he is slippin somewhere. Ohh yeah about Campas, i'm kinda surprised about that. I got to say i'm happy for Campas although he has shown that he is way past his prime he still manages to pull some nice stuff together with these nice victories. I always liked Yory Boy.

Re: Omar Chavez
Yeah Chavez was absolutely horrible in that last fight. I mean he just got bulldogged around the ring against a guy who wasn't good at all. Don't remember much but I remember not being impressed in the least. Of course everyone is allowed their off days but imo, he should have had an amateur career. That way the trial isn't a trial by fire but a process that lets him build and develop his skills. Mares and Angulo are to fine fighters who have come recently from the Mexican amateur program, there is no reason that the Chavez brothers shouldn't have had an amateur career. If not then at least get them off TV under the bright lights.
