Went To My Gym Yesterday....
Obviously can't do any real training at the moment and i was just observing a fight and i see this brutal KO, This guy hit him with a counter right hand and the other guy hit the canvas like a ton of brick's. And he is in my weight class so down the road i could face him and even though i've sparred against some strong fighters, and i got over a rocky patch in my 3rd amateur fight. I've never seen anyone that strong in person he is 5'9 and from what i observed he ducks and comes up with his punches and thats how he gets leverage into his punches, just thought i would tell you guys and for certain i'll be keep my eye on this guy and see if i can spot any weaknesses.
Re: Went To My Gym Yesterday....
Whats his name?
I'm supposed to be fighting a lad from England thats quite plucky.
Re: Went To My Gym Yesterday....
ouch..a fullblown KO in sparring? sucks for the other guy.
lol during your off time you should try to observe and exploit some weakness in the guy.
Re: Went To My Gym Yesterday....
When he weaves in to his cross(which is what Im assuming he's doing) counter and step with a hook
Re: Went To My Gym Yesterday....
I've yet to see a live knockout. By that I mean see someone get knocked out in person. Although I've done most of my fighting in sparring, I have my first tournament next month so i'm nervous about that. But yea if I was you I'd do the same thing, whenever you're relaxing just watch him and see if you spot any mistakes or areas where he leaves himself open, because everyone always does.
Re: Went To My Gym Yesterday....
good luck lefty, just remember to have fun...
Re: Went To My Gym Yesterday....
Thanks iceman :) in the end that's what it's all about, having fun. and I have fun every time I spar so I'll remember that thank you.

like Tyson?
Q - was this full on sparring? If yes then he could be a strong puncher, the other guy a bit chinny or he didn't see the punch so maximising the effect.
If NO, the guy is chinny or tyson upped his power for that shot and landed a peach (by that I mean you're doing regular sparring but the other person thinks they're tasty so they start putting more power in their shots)
Without seeing him, if he's a ducker, use movement so he doesn't have time to set his feet for his power shots and a ramrod jab, if you paw with it he'll walk through it and you, double it up/feint so he doesn't get to read it.
Don't beat yourself up over what might happen, leave that to him;D Good luck and may God be with you.
