Won't be one of the FOTY's ?? im not saying it won't be a good fight but i don't think the action will be as good some people think, Cotto will be the counter puncher in this fight and he is the surperior boxer and i think he will only engage when he wants to or has to, obviously Margarito will have his moments when he gets Cotto on the ropes and then we will see some furious exchanges, but i think that will be few and far between does anyone else agree ??

That's the question. Who will be cleaner and fresher in the later rounds. I can't see Cotto stopping Tony; we all saw what bombs Cintron laid on him and he was smiling. Though if Cotto can get in and out on that body, who knows? But I know one thing, Tony is known for bringing heat as the fight progresses, so if anyone goes down late it will IMO be Cotto. It depends on two things 1 how effect Margarito is at pressuring Cotto and forcing him to work, and 2 how effective Cotto is to the body. But because Margarito is a tall Welterweight i think Cotto will get many chances to go to the body. And remember Legion Margarito has been decked by body shots before, i know Margarito was young at the time but i haven't seen Margarito really tested to the midsection since that so i would like to see how Margarito copes with Cotto's body punches.Quote:

It'll be a cracker if Tony gets a good start. IMO if Cotto gets a few rounds in the bank he'll play it safe and rest on his laurels to the home straight, it's what he did against Mosely who I thought was there for the taking after about 8 rounds as he was tiring badly, but Cotto let him off the hook.

I just go back to Cotto slamming it into reverse when he couldnt break Shane down... I see him not being able to break Tony down and paying the price, then when he slams on the breaks and put it in reverse that when Tony will take over this fight, the pressure will be tremendous and I'm not sure Cotto can handle it.. Not to mention Cotto cuts easily in the mouth and I see Tony's uppercuts through Cotto's earmuff defense.. Gonna be a train wreck thats for sure
I'm not sure how the fight will play out in terms of action, I do agree that Cotto will try and play the role of a counter-puncher. If it does end up as a FOTY type match, it'll definitely be to the benefit of Margo.
Hey JT , moving backwards doesn't mean that he was tire or something like that , to me he made that in other fights and looked good , probably made more often to demonstrate that brought new skills , obviously Shame wasnt easy , he is a great Champion , you seems that wanted that Cotto KO Shane for prove more than you were expect.............Dont you ?Quote:

I would tend to agree with you, but if you watch the fight he didnt come out to start a round that way, he went backwards abruptly and stayed back the rest of the fight, which tells me Shane was actually getting to Cotto physically and Miguel wanted no more of the close exchanges
