hi i am 14 nearly 15 and i have always loved to watch boxing but i have only just started to want to do it myself, most of these boxers trained when they where about 6, if i started now could i still become a good boxer?

also could someone tell me when i am not training at the gym, what basics could i do at home.
Eat well, run, shadow box, sit ups, pull ups, push ups etc etc.
Ive just started training at a park down the road, its about a 4 mile circuit plus it has an assault course, lots of stuff to climb on, jump over etc etc.
You are definitely not too late man.
Glen Johnson never put gloves on until he was 20 and he was the light heavyweight champion. Tarver never turned pro until he was 28 and he just beat Johnson. Guys come off of being drug addicts and prisoners.
There are a lot of stories of guys who started late and from a bad place. Boxing is one sport where it often comes down to who wants it more, who's got the heart, and who's willing to sacrafice the most.
okay cheers for those guys, i do do some running now and then but now that i know that it is good for boxing i will go everyday. ;)
haha when i was reading this i thought johnson and tarver haha and you stole my analogy before i got to say it! ya but they are great examples. man 15 is an awesome age because your catching it right as your muscles are finishing development and the one thing you need is to have control which can be hard at your age but you just have to listen to your trainer and dont buckle and eat a bunch of junk food. and tryt to run as much as possibleQuote:

Well if you are like me and you want to stay lean and mean, I suggest lean meats (poultry without breading), fish, (maybe red meat once or twice a week), a ton of veggies and fruits, rice, salads with not too much dressing or none at all, some pasta, oatmeal, sea foods (without breading), and water water water.
That is mainly my diet anyways and it seems to work.
