Best Fighter from Each US State
ESPN is doing a list of the best fighters from each state. (They started today by naming Jack Johnson the best fighter ever from Texas.) Let's try to put one together ourselves.
IMPORTANT: ESPN is doing their list by the state that a fighter "is associated with." So a guy like Ray Robinson counts for NY, instead of GA where he was actually born. Let's do our list by place of birth, it just makes it easier.

Re: Best Fighter from Each US State
Michigan is tough with Thomas Hearns and PBF both being from there.
UNLESS you consider PBF to be from Las Vegas where he has resided for a while now.
For Arkansas I'm thinking Jermain Taylor would be a good candidate.
Maybe this will help get things for now.
Re: Best Fighter from Each US State
Good thread. Seriously, not trying to be funny, but is Tye Fields the best Montana has offered?

Is Judah better than the "before prison," Tyson? Not yet, but will be soon.
Is Judah better than the "after prison," Tyson? By a landslide.

Hmmm Toney vs. Hearns there is an interesting argument to be made for both. Hearns had tougher competition, titles at Welter, Light Middle, Middle, super Middle and Light Heavy. Toney had titles at Middle, Super Middle, Cruiser and Heavy.
Hmm I have a hard time finding something that justifies Toney over the real Hitman.
