Why do people compare PBF to SRL
I never got why people always want to compare this guys. To me i think at Welterweight SRL would win and any weight above. But mostly also because of the differents in size of the two i mean SFW was PBFs weight and SRL weight was welter. If you look at the wins at the weight PBF does not even come close to SRL so i really do not get why people feel the need to comepare PBF to guys like Hearns and SRL sure i say they win but they also started at that weight just some thoughts on that.
Re: Why do people compare PBF to SRL
Both American both flashy both fight at similar weights both fast both black both similar size both great fighters.
Thats why they are compared, but Ray Leonard early 80s eats Floyd for breakfast at 147lbs.
The comparisons that get me are every tall welterweight is the next Tommy Hearns.
Re: Why do people compare PBF to SRL
Thanks for the reply but what i meant is liek i think when we should compare people PBF should be People Like Mosley, Duran and Oscar. Those guys were in prime in the SFW LW divsion those were PBF divisions think bit more fair to judge those fights then him with Benitiz , Hearns and Leonard if you gte what i mean might not be clear on what i am saying.
Re: Why do people compare PBF to SRL
And i also get waht you mean about Hearns people were comparing PW to Hearns thats just sad if you ask me but people can have a opinion.

Re: Why do people compare PBF to SRL
No one has compared Floyd Mayweather Jr to Sugar Ray Leonard maybe Pernell Whitaker because there both defensive geniuses, but i haven't see anyone on this forum compare Mayweather to Leonard ever.
Re: Why do people compare PBF to SRL
Yet again sorry if i was misleading i ment them fighting one another what i meant i do not think PBF should be based on how well he would do against the likes of Hearns and SRL if they fought at welterwiegth who would win i think Mosley or Oscar fighting at SFW or LW is better more relistic fights.

Im not sure what what your getting at personally. Floyd Mayweather Jr would have gave Sugar Ray Leonard fits, remember Mayweather's dad did win rounds off Leonard, im not saying Mayweather would win i think Leonard wins a close decision but it would a closely contested fight i know that for certain, and i think Hearns wins a UD as well. But Hearns is a bad style match up for anyone at Welterweight even the great Sugar Ray Robinson would have stylistic problems with Hearns, but if Hearns had stronger legs and a better chin he would have been unbeatable at Welterweight.
Re: Why do people compare PBF to SRL
When it comes to PBF and you talk fantasy fights i would think for PBf would be better gaged at his best weights and the weights he achived. So when i think PBF facing some one i am thinking the greats from the SFW and LW because he did his best work there and seem to be his best. Welter weight for me when i think PBf was a weight divsion he never really touched but time while tell does that make sense of still not making sense.

Floyd Mayweather Jr at Super Featherweight was unbeatable IMO.
Re: Why do people compare PBF to SRL
I think Oscar would of gave him a good run but do you understand what i mean i see alot of people make fights with PBF that really arent at his best weights for example. SRR, Tommy Hearns, Terry Norris, SRL just think 147 and up PBf seems to miss alot of the things that he had at lower weights thanks for your replys ice been while since i have heard them.

Yes but Floyd was a boy back then he was best 135-147lbs and some many say Hatton considering he was unbeaten and with a solid resume is Floyds best win.
