Hatton Splits from Graham
No Not That One!!!
Matthew Hatton has confirmed that he will now be training at Bobby Rimmers gym in Stalybridge from now on. Matthew will be trained by primarily by Lee Beard and Bobby will oversee the younger Hatton's progress.
Matthew wanted to stress that in no way does this effect his working relationship with Kerry Kayes, Matthew is grateful for all the advice and help that Kerry has given him over the years and will continue to work with Kerry for the forseeable future to assist his conditioning and physical preparation.
After his defeat to Craig Watson on his older sibling's 'Homecoming' event earlier in May, Matthew felt that it was time for a change thus why the decision has been made.
He advised his fans that he is really excited about going to a new gym which has a lot of active fighters.Mathew Hatton has worked with Bobby at the Phoenix gym on previous occasions and is looking forward to training under Bobby again.
It will be interesting to see if this affects Big Hatton

I agree. Who cares about Matt Hatton?
Re: Hatton Splits from Graham
I think the title is perfectly fine.
Matthew and Ricky always stress whatever one does the other follows so this could provide a window into rickys mind.
I hope he changes.

He only has a couple of 'half decent' fights left in him, why on earth would you want him to leave Billy at this stage?

For the same reason as I've stated the last 3 years.
A change in trainer could help;
1) His Longevity
2) His repuatation
and
3) His Record

I never really disagree with you but I don't think a change in trainer would add anything to his career, it's too late for that. The damage is done with the crazy training and weight issues, too late for change.

Whats taking its toll on Ricky, more than exploding in weight, more than weight, is the training.
The wear and tear Ricky is amassing in the gym is ridiculous, because of Grahams old school beliefs.
Ricky's knees will be shot in a few years as his elbows already are.
A change in trainer would at least reduce the physical depreciation of the fighter.

I still don't think at this stage it makes a significant difference, like I said, his training is/was crazy. That sort of intense training is only suitable for a short career and I think he is already at the end of it. Paulie and Pac.......then hang em up once he is 45-2

Change the trainer, the training schedule changes.

...but the damage remains bud.
Re: Hatton Splits from Graham
What I'm saying is, no matter who he trains with, he will never fight 12 rounds like he used to. The amount of times he has come to the ring overtrained goes into the tens. Billy is no great trainer, Ricky is a great warrior. That's why he is a draw and had major success. If he changed trainers 5 years ago, who knows? but his lifestyle meant that he had to train like a bastard to get the weight off so he has always been half the problem. I made a thread the other day after I found out he lost 12 stone in 2004.....thats just too much for a 140lb guy mate.
