Jeff and Dan Birmingham severed ties? I must have fell asleep at the wheel for that announcement...
I am excited to see Jeff on Wednesday, he is usually very cordial as well as optimistic, I just hope he is willing to turn it loose against Mendoza and be less tentative with the shoulder injury almost a year recovered..I hope he has got back to the basics Jab and combo's and not just the one punch... We shall see;)
I'm pretty sure the switch is just a change for one fight and was agreed upon mutually. Read about it in a St. Petersburg Press article will try to find it. The door isn't closed on them working together again and they still remain friends. Lacy initially wanted to train in Vegas where he lives but the search for a trainer brought him back to Florida.
This seems like one of those must win and look good doing it type of fights. I want to see this guy get back in the mix and add some more depth to that division.

Couldn't find it. But they only got back together in 2004 so it's not all that much of a surprise.

Anybody remember Mendoza-Tokunbo Olajide? I was reasonably high on him. They did this big thing hyping him, goes out and gets KO'd in the first and breaks his ankle on the way down. Oh well.
