How long have you been following Antonio Margarito ?
I have to say the first fight i see of his was against a good boxer Sergio Gabriel Martinez and when he totally destroyed him then i become a fan of his and have rooted for the "Tijuana Tornado" ever since how about you ?

That was the 1st time I saw him fight as well; I believe it was early 2000. I think that is the only loss Martinez has on his record:confused: Knocked him out in the 7th or 8th round. Been a while since I saw it.

Yes i believe your right Segio Gabriel Martinez was a good boxer and had some good skills and for Antonio Margarito to beat down a good boxer like that said alot about him as a fighter and i was sold on him from that point on.

Yeah my friend down the street from me liked him and that's where I saw that fight. Haven't seen all of his fights since, but been a rabid follower since early 2005. It was hard because when he fought Cintron I liked both of them.

8I actually attended a couple of Tony fights while I was in the US a few years ago, but I disliked him and held little interest.

I wouldn't class myself as a Margarito fan, but I do follow his career and root for him in many fights.
I greatly admire his work in the gym.

Thats completly understandable with Tony, his menatality is all that one could ever ask for from a boxer.
You could take Tony and throw him in a 15 rounder in the 1920's or all the way back to the Coliseum in the BC, he would have put on an entertaining and competitive display.

I do believe it was his loss to String bean southpaw Rodney Toney in 96'.Toney actually had some talent as a southpaw boxing fool from what I remember....Have no score sheet on it though.
His very next fight made the brutal impact on me....."Hey,You have to watch this guy" Lol.They aired him Vs.big hyped up prospect Alfred Ankamah (Who himself had blasted out Toney :-X) on HSE and Tony just decapitated him in the 4th.I checked my old yellow score sheets, yuk, and wrote down " Ankamah gets stomped by huge banger"......not terribly insightful but I believe it was a one explosive shot ;D.Hooked ever since.
