Israel Vazquez's Manager Responds To Gerry Penalosa - Boxing News

Although not new, here's a recent article on one of my favorite fighters and the number one super bantamweight in the world, Izzy Vasquez.
Gerry Penalosa, currently a strap holder at bantam has expressed interest in Challenging Izzy, but stressed he doesn't have long left in boxing.
Izzy will be out until 2009 indefinitely.

My thoughts on this are clear and certain.
As the fight will have to wait until 2009, with Penalosa coming to the end of his career and Israel looking absolutley phenomenal in his last two fights, I can see Israel ending Gerry. Penalosa has heart and is tough at bantam, but I really don't rate his chances againt "El Magnifico."

Hmmm. I would love to watch this fight. I will pick Gerry on this. Israel is damn good and I respect him, but Gerry is one of my all-time favorites. A big-hearted, determined, smart fighter. He's old and good-to-go but, man, Gerry has nothin to lose. This could be big for him.
