Stop Dumping On Cotto Because Of His Fans!!!
Sh*t!! It gets worse with each new thread and post I read. Let me state a few things for the record:
1. Cotto was the ONLY 147-pounder willing to give Margarito a shot. PBF didn't... Mosley didn't... DLH won't. (FACT)
2. Cotto fought admirably and won either the first 5 or 7 rounds, depending on how each person interprets the action. He boxed better than most people give him credit for... he counter-punched... he moved... he hit Margarito with everything he had.
3. Everyone, fans and haters alike, enjoyed the fight. It was a classic fight, one that will be talked about for many years.
4. Cotto was a GRACIOUS loser after the fight. No excuses, no "I'm going to retire." Matter of fact, he said he'd be back in 2008. Personally, I hope he waits till early 2009.
5. What's all this "quit" sh*t?!? Geezus.... I've never seen such a load of crap. What does it take for a fighter "not to quit"? For him to get brain-damaged out there? Cotto was thoroughly beaten and bloodied. He fought on into the later rounds despite having his nose broken and his mouth and eyes bloodied. His damn corner threw in the towel for heaven sakes.
6. Like Margarito, Cotto is one of the classiest guys around. He never talks sh*t about his opponents... just gives us fans a terrific show every time out there.
7. Not all Cotto fans talk sh*t or make excuses for his loss. At least count ME out of that group. I challenge ANYONE to drag up ONE post where I've talked trash about Margarito or made cheap excuses about Cotto's loss.
Sorry for the frustration... but I had to vent.
