Another dumb Olympic Statement
I'm just watching the Olympic Opening ceremony now and it is quite spectacular I must admit.
But the commentator made the stupid statement that it was being watched live by over 4 billion people around the world.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but arn't they only 6.5 billion people in the entire world?
So to reach a 4 billion viewing figure that would mean 60 percent of the worlds population was watching this right?
60 PERCENT!!!
I can understand a figure of 60 percent in China, probably even higher, but what about in Africa? How many of the millions of people living in absolute poverty in refugee camps will be watching this?
What about all the really elderly and sick, babies, and institutionalised people around the world, did they watch it?
And what about all the people (probably 3 out of 4 of everyone I know) who simply do not care and would be about as likely to sit down and watch the Olympic Opening ceremony as they are the Queens Speech
Am I the only one who thinks this figure ranks right up there with Amir Khan's 1.5 percent bodyfat in the stupid retarded statements ranking?
Re: Another dumb Olympic Statement
Yep, stupid.
I'm sure all the headhunters in Borneo stopped at the local pub to catch the swimming events.:p
