Linares has vacated his title; Larios new champ
its on boxingscene, apparently Larios was the interim champ or something  Will be making his first defense in Japan versus Takahiro Aoh.
Linares is vacating cause of the weight and the need to recover from an injury. Does not shock me as in the Diaz fight he looked like a guy who was having trouble making weight.
So both Linares and Robert Guerrero have moved up to 130. 126 is shitty. Shitty. If Gamboa stays there nothing stops him from being the man, flaws and all, especially since John apparently doesn't have a ton of ambition.
Re: Linares has vacated his title; Larios new champ
With the injuries he's suffered + the inactivity I've put a question mark over him.
I don't care how good you've looked for someone like him who was just getting his feet wet and for this to happen to him IMO puts a question mark on him.

Yeah, I love how divisions change with the snap of a finger. Hah, maybe there can be a Jason Litzau-Yuriorkis Gamboa super fight to determine the grand featherweight champion.
I'm all for Linares moving up with the rest. It's Larios getting the title that I can't make much sense of.

By no means do I agree with it nore Am I trying to justify it.
But you asked and now I'm interested.
The only theory that comes to mind is that after the Linares fight Larios said he wanted a rematch and that he felt he could do better. (I remember this from an interview)
After the Linares fight Larios cameback and picked up some WBC trinket that was vacant to try and set himself up for a rematch. But with Linares being injured and not being able to defend his title I think good ol' Jose Sulaiman from the WBC did one of his deeds and made the Larios following bout a bout for the "Interim" title.
Which is obviously bullshit cause I don't know how Larios oppponent Viloria get's a shot at the title.
Re: Linares has vacated his title; Larios new champ
Are they really going to crown Larios?Whats his condition after injuries though he has fought since?

Linares has been inactive since late 2007 and has had 2 injuries since then. Which have kept him sidelined, the latest one was about 2 months ago.

That's what I was wondering Spicoli, didn't Larios have brain injuries after the Linares fight Mick?

Linares was hitting a Impressive stride, that is bad indeed. He just seems injury prone and may become another case of "what might have been",hope he can put it all together and come back strong?More so about Larios...Is he even liscensed in the States?I remember he had some Bleeding after Linares scrap and I hope to hell they are watching him close. His style does not exactly scream defense and we do not need any more statistics.....Ive only seen him fight once after Linares match and it was 12 rounds of all out give & take with a not-so-big type??

I'm trying to find the article on Larios from his medical clearance after the Linares fight. I believe he had an MRI done and has been cleared to fight.
I think Larios next fight is in Japan.
