Building Up Stamina
Hey, i was just wondering what you guys do to build up your stamina. So far i feel i've got good speed, power and technique but after a while i lose all of that due to me being totally out of breathe.
I found myself using the : Freestanding man, punch bag + speedball, most out of everything, and this does alot for my skill but absolutly nothing for my cardio, so i cant really go 2 or 3 rounds without being drained.
but i have the stamina of a pig, not to mention the belly of one aswell. So any tips on this. Also i have a really weak stomach, probally due to my beer belly, a couple of decent shots to my belly and i find it even harder to put get my act together, even though i do around 150/200 situps a day.
any sort of feedback is apreicated.

A couple of good articles on the topic.

I personally have good results conditioning 3 days per week.
Right now I am in phase I of my conditioning.
On Tuesday I run a mile followed by doing 4-6 three minute drills in which I sprint up a 60 meter hill, do 15 plyo pushups, 15 star jumps, backpedal 50 yards, 15 burpees, shuffle 30 yards left, sprint 30 yards right, shuffle 30 yards right, sprint 30 yards left, bound 50 yards ahead, 20 squat jumps, 20 lateral jumps and 15 plyo pushups all in succession without rest. 1 minute between sets. When I'm doing I jog another mile
On Thursday I run 3-5 miles at a nice easy pace and maybe do some rounds of beating the hell out of a tire with a sledgehammer.
On Saturday I basically repeat Tuesdays workout.
My goal is to condition without destroying my fast twitch tendencies, which are quick to go on a high volume running program. When I can do intense 3 minute drills with 1 minutes rest and start each round with a heart rate of 110-120 I know I'm good to go.
On MON, WED, and FRI I'll also do some skipping and quite a bit of lifting.
Keep in mind the most specific form of conditioning is actual sparring. Conditioning is largely specific to the activity which means you might be able to run your butt off and do all this and that and still get thrown in the ring and be out of gas after the first minute if you don't work enough at it.

Re: Building Up Stamina
Jump roping, running 300ft then skipping 300ft. Swimming gets your cardio up.

Re: Building Up Stamina
I used to get tired even just working on the bag until I got out and started running & skipping... It amazing how quickly your stamina goes up once you start pushing yourself a little out on the road.

Re: Building Up Stamina
Speed bag does work the cardio, when you use it for a long time, say do like 5mins straight, obviously increased capillaries from this and thus more oxygen. Running interval, skipping, intense bike riding, on a rowing machine
say at home just a training could be:Making sure to change activities quickly
run(just like a mile for warm up)
skip( pushups, situps or burpees during rest)
speed bag(or shadow box)
run(interval)
skip
heavy bag( 5 3min rounds then 30secs full length punching as long as you can)
run or skip to warm down
just an example, kinda like my routine i do everyday, basic yet effective
it is easy to increase endurance if you are smart about it, just mix it up
