Rip Vargas...

Just read this on fightnews.

Ronney Vargas dies
Junior middleweight prospect Ronney Vargas was senselessly killed Saturday by a gun shot to the chest on Saturday morning while sitting in his car in the Bronx. The tragedy occured after a late night argument at a local deli and the 20-year-old Vargas later passed at St. Barnabas Hospital. He finishes with a pro record of 8-0 with six knockouts after a stellar amateur career. No arrests have been made. Fightnews extends sympathies to his family and friends.

Why does it seem to be getting such a popular theme? Boxers being murdered with weapons either after their careers are over (usually working as some kind of security) or like in this case as a hot prospect trying to make a name for themselves.

This world seems to be getting more cowardly all the time. These people (the murderers) know that one on one they don't stand a chance with these professional fighters so they get weapons to do what they can't. It knocks me physically sick.

Actually remember "Meeting up after school" in the parking lot...having a go and then moving on :fight: .Now a days ,If you do win with your hands.....you had better watch yourself twice as much the next day.We had a case down here 2 months ago in which The MOTHER of a 13 year old gave her son a gun & told him "Go get some pay back".He did.Just insane and sad as hell.

Yeah I remember fighting after school winning some and well erm...nearly losing one, but now there is no way I would have expected to have been shot for it. Fights happen, thats the way of life. People don't get on that is too. The point i'm trying to make is, 2 years ago someone tried to stab me. I slipped his knife shot and he followed through straight into my best friends head. Needless to say after I had got my friend into the ambulance I went looking for him with the intent of beating him within an inch of his life. Anyway I never caught upto the man who tried to stab me and 1 year later he himself was stabbed to death. When I heard of this I was sickened and thought if only I had got him maybe he would have kept himself out of trouble and still have been alive now. The point is why do people nowadays have to rely on weapons? I have never used a weapon and no matter what I come against never will do. Too much self respect and so on. If someone is better than me then fair enough, but they certainly don't need to die for it.

That's fukked up. He was an outstanding amateur. I saw his last AM fight against Asante Henderson (I think that's his name). He had serious talent.

That really sucks. RIP

I never seen any of his fights, but I probably would've on HBO or espn by and by. It's a shame when anyone with potential gets killed. God bless him.

Its a shame when anyone dies but when someone so young gets his life taken away from him by cowards its even worse.
