Just About Sick and Tired
OK,I know you were all shocked when I took Andrew on
But
I saw something I could work with in him
I saw heart
He's been dutifully doing my training, the way I want
Ya'all dont know what the kids been through,he got tossed to the wolves before I got him
Now if after I have him for a while,he's still where he is right now, then you got cause to rip him,but for right now, give the kid a freaking break,Im working him to the bone right now,so when he comes in from a day of working his ass off for me,and see's this shit it sets him back
Just mentally
I need the boy's head in the game
Re: Just About Sick and Tired
Good luck TM, I still believe in Thunder :)
Re: Just About Sick and Tired
Bilbo,Id be surprised,if alot of people arent surprised by Andrew's next performance
He'll probably be the first to say,"You get better, but they aint nice about it"
Re: Just About Sick and Tired
Well I think personally people have laid off substantially from this kat compared to how it was going for him here.
Dude wanted to make the bet that if he lost he'd have no right to complain if we badgered him; and if he won he could talk all the sh#t he wanted and we would have to leave him alone.
Now we all know if he won we would have f#cked with him anyways; and he didn't win and look at Thunder now, he can't take the heat, which has been not as hot as it could have been. So that whole bet was worthless anyways, lol.
But really TM, he hardly gets hassled; I haven't said anything to him negative for a minute and he gets less heat on here in general than alot of other guys that just post a boxing opinion that alot of members don't agree with.
The only reason I don't hassle him any more is out of respect for what you are doing{or attempting to do}; but really man, if you think his head isn't in it because he gets picked at like a runt chicken in the coop than maybe he shouldn't come on here. People are going to say something at some point; so maybe he should either deal with it and use it as motivation, or not look at what is said. Don't alot of pro-boxers not come on these boards so this type sh#t doesn't f#ck with their mind?
I don't even know why I'm writing an essay on the woes of Kid Thunder; this place has gone mad:p
And if you read this Thunder, I'm not trying to piss you off, so don't have a hernia or hold your breath over it. Just use it as motivation. And I still want my poster; you haven't pm'd me or acknowledged my posts concerning that poster you promised me.
Re: Just About Sick and Tired
Legion,I see what your saying, but the boy has a young guy "see red" gear Im working to get out of him
And Andrew you will read this so to save time,I allready told you Im getting you more focused, and come to think of it,why arent you reading Art Of War the way I told you to?
It'll come together,as long as he keeps listening,it gets better every day
I really do think I can make something of the boy

Even I think your being optimisitic if you think you can get Andrew to read Art of War.
What next, have him work through War and Peace?
You going to teach him to read as well? :D
Just joking Andrew mate ;)

Well I'm sure you can make something of him, seriously. He won't ever fight for the WBC belt, even he must know that, but anyone can grow and mature in whatever endeavor they pursue if they work. And love goes a long way and blah blah blah.
I think it's great, and best luck to him, but win or lose, improvements or not, that boy is going to take criticism no matter what. Hell, Floyd Mayweather takes tons of heat.
All I'm trying to say, and you already know this, is that if that red button he has is pushed so easy, it always will be and no matter what he does he better learn to deal with it. Just cause' I never boxed in a ring doesn't mean I haven't thrown down many a time; and if you can't get your shit together mentally in a fight, whether in the street or in the ring, you might as well go home!! Andrew's biggest foe is his mind; and that ring is 70-80% mental, and I don't need to have been in the ring to know that.

Andrew is a pretty interesting cat
At first he comes off as a hillbilly
But then you start talking to him and you realize thats kind of a front,he's alot smarter then people realize
I mean I read Nietzche for fun, and he can do stuff programing wise, with the very same programs I have,I wouldnt even attempt for fear of breaking the whole computer
Honest, you do yourself a disservice if you write the boy off as dumb, because he really is alot smarter then people give him credit for

Nah I agree, I like the kid, he leads an interesting life for sure and dares to be different.
I'm hoping he can get a few W's on his record and silence the doubters.

He'll just take a bit of time
But come on son,if I didnt defend my boy, would you want to train under me?
Andrew is starting to see the need for focus,I have time to get his motor in gear
Call him my little Diesel;D
Re: Just About Sick and Tired
And for the record, the little comment
Both the trainers in the gym are over 6'0"
Andrew isnt

No, and that's why I am pretty much leaving him alone, like I said out of respect for you; that's it and that's all. Otherwise I'd be jerking his chain every day;D
Re: Just About Sick and Tired
How many forums is he on, and in how many wars TM? I mean, c'mon...he is begging for it. I don't see how he has the time to be doing all that on so many forums. Work. Raise 6 kids. How man, how? And somehow still be able to take training seriously?
I spenda lot of time on here, like many of us, and manage to do a good routine. But I'm not a dad raising 6 kids and working full time too. I say something has to go if this training deal is going to be serious. So he should look at his priorities. What is more important?
Let's assume he is a decent man and his family comes first. OK. Family. In. Let's assume he isn't independantly wealthy and does roofing as a hobby. Needs the job to support the family. In. So what does that leave? Time to train or spend a bunch of time on a pile of forums arguing with numerous people who enjoy mocking him, playfully toying with him, making youtube vids etc etc.
Time to prioritize would be my guess. Something has to give. It obviously was training that lost the last battle. You do the math.

Long story short, there where some reasons other then me getting him late in the game, that Andrew wasnt trained right for the Dumas fight.
And yes Ive allready barked at him about them,he thought I think,Id call the fight
And he's probably right,I probably would have called it off
Re: Just About Sick and Tired
Hey I feel where you're coming from Trainer and I respect it. BUT at the same time Kid Thunder is the one hyping himself up and not delivering in the ring and EVERY PROFESSIONAL FIGHTER (no matter what level) gets ripped when they do more talking than walking.
Good luck with getting him trained properly
