Hatton vs Malignaggi? Anyone really care about this fight?
I can't seem to get motivated about this fight only because IMO both Hatton and Malignaggi's stock has been dropping due to their piss poor performances as of late. Is anyone else really interested in this fight? I mean these are seen as nothing more than clowns right now, we had Hatton come out wearing a fat man suit and faught like one too. His fight against an old Lazcano was nothing to write home about. BORING is the word. Malignaggi comes out still wearing those rediculous extensions in his hair which caused nothing but laughter and other than that he too stunk up the joint. Can you blame me for not getting excited about this fight? It seems as though they are more entertaining outside of the ring than they are inside of the ring today. Maybe they are in the wrong proffesion or something. Clowns and comedians if what I see.
Did PBF ruin Hatton or was Hatton over rated? Did Cotto ruin Malignaggi or did he too just always suck? I thought there was a little bit of Camacho Sr's style in Malignaggi but I have not seen this style since the Camarena bout. I guess he is a chep imitation, very cheap.

Hatton smashes Powderpuff.
You moved from the welterweights to the jr welterweights have you know ? Impressive.
Re: Hatton vs Malignaggi? Anyone really care about this fight?
It's hardly a mouth watering prospect but everyone screamed for hatton to unify the Jnr welterweight div.....now he is doing that.
What else can he do?
Re: Hatton vs Malignaggi? Anyone really care about this fight?
I'm eagerly anticipating this fight.
Hatton has been lacklustre for quite a while now.
He has attempted to outmuscle every opponent since Tszyu (excluding the first 5 vs. Urango,) and has looked less confident in his stamina and athletisicm since Collazo.
In Malignaggi he faces a moving target, Malignaggi will not stand up to Hatton at any stage, moving backward and to the side constantly.
This will force one of two reactions;
1) A frustrated Ricky, swings and misses, constantly countered.
2)A red hot performance fro the Hitman and the rejuvination 0f the 140 lbs title.

It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out... I think Hatton can turn the clock back a bit on this one and show some of the pressure that put him up there... If he can't do that then I think the interest will drop of hugely on his fights, but I beleive he's still got a bit more to give..
It's not a superfight, but I look forward to it as much as Jones Calzaghe, Hopkins Calzaghe etc.. It was definetely the logical fight for Ricky at this stage, and a fight with Pac wouldn't be ridiculous after this one if he performs well... I'm sure a good performance from Ricky would peak Pac's interest as well..

With the way Paulie has been fighting of late Hatton isn't going to need to turn back the clock, I really wanted this fight originally, but Paulie has dropped like a stone skills wise his head movement has dissapeared. I heavily favor Hatton here and expect a relatively short night.
Re: Hatton vs Malignaggi? Anyone really care about this fight?
I know LEGION thinks Paulie takes Hatton to school.
Re: Hatton vs Malignaggi? Anyone really care about this fight?
They are two of the main players in the Jnr Welterweight division so it's an obvious match-up and I think it will be a close fight due to the styles.
Malignaggi will pose problems for Hatton but I expect Ricky to prevail and add another good name to his resume.
Re: Hatton vs Malignaggi? Anyone really care about this fight?
Style wise it could be a classic.
There are not many big fights out there for Hatton now at light welter weight and he is to small to move up in weight.
Pity he did not fight Witter coz it would have been a massive fight in the uk and he would have silenced a lot of critics.

I think Torres or Holt could both provide a thrilling matchup.
Peterson is a possibility perhaps.

Yes they would have puch power that might hurt Hatton.
Re: Hatton vs Malignaggi? Anyone really care about this fight?
I'm definately interested in this fight; maybe not so much now after the rather poor performances of late from both guys, but still interested.
I've always liked Hatton, and have never liked Paulie, though I think he is a very good boxer.
This is going to cause big problems for Ricky because Paulie is not going to get caught up in a war on the ropes and let Hatton hold and try to dig those body shots. Paulie will be playing to the ref all night and will simply outbox Hatton.
After about 6 rounds of this I see deja-vu from the Mayweather fight kicking in and Ricky I think is going to get sloppy and just try to take shots in the face while winging punches. I can't see Paulie stopping Ricky but I think it will be a pretty decisive win for Paulie, which will make me sick as the guy is so annoying.
I'm not implying Paulie is on a Mayweather level, but he is a slick boxer, pretty damn durable{except his hands} and will go into turtle mode and apply to the ref for support every time Ricky tries to bully him around. A shame really, as Ricky can box and has great movement, but chooses to lunge in with his head straight up, and has relied solely on mauling an opponent and wearing that body down for too long now.
Just how I see it; I hope I'm wrong and Hatton breaks this loudmouth wig wearing weenie;D

I agree, but also Hatton had the chance to fight Cotto but Hatton like an idot moved up to fight Collazo (HUGE MISTAKE) Cotto was ripe for the pickings at 140 because he was having a very hard time making weight. It would have been a great entertaining fight in which Hatton might have been able to pull it off. Hatton also made the mistake of jumping up again to welter to face PBF but I think the outcome might have been the same even at 140 against PBF because PBF was not fighting, he was counting on something he knew, he knew that Hatton was chinny and he knew that if he could bait Hatton in over and over again because of his leaping style, that eventually he would catch Hatton with that check hook that he threw about 500 times, you go that many times to the well, and something is bound to break and in this case it was Hattons pink face ;D
Re: Hatton vs Malignaggi? Anyone really care about this fight?
Of course this fight is worth watching. Two good fighters with great personalities.......why would'nt people want to watch it?It'll be a propper little slug fest!;D.After the Hitman has reclaimed his title off Paulie it would then be up to tnhe Pacman man to face Hatton next year.NOW THAT WOULD BE A GREAT GREAT FIGHT!!!!!!!!CANT WAIT!
