This is great news believe it or not.
Mayweather Sr. is not only a skills coach he places incredible emphasis on conditioning and fitness.

Mayweather won't train him for anything less than a million, if Ricky's willing to shell that out then I'm sure he's willing to listen and be coached.
Re: F.Mayweather Snr To train Hatton!
Interesting developements at team Hatton. First Graham out, then Kerry Kays (SP?) Now Floyd Snr in??????????
I think its a good move personally. Never been a fan of Billy Graham, seemed a good on top trainer but got the impression he was laking somewhat when the shit hit the fan.
We wont be seing Hatton doing a shoulder roll. Would be nice to see him catch some jabs though.

Hard to say on that,Ricky's fought that way his whole career, the old dog new tricks syndrome.
I mean some fighters can re-invent themselves,Hopkins went from a hard nosed clincher to more of an out sniper,we'll see if Ricky can switch it up.

Thats actually a common misconception.
Ricky hasn't fought the way he has for his entire career.
At domestic, European and even lower world level he was a fleet footed volume puncher with a great left hook to the body.

It would be nice to see a bit of that speed back in the Malignaggi fight, wouldn't it?

If i was Ricky Hatton's trainer i would teach him peak a boo style so he uses more head movement as he is coming in because lately his chin is up in the air and he just comes in with no real gameplan or defense also get rid of those lunging hooks i hate it when he does that and thats why he got caught with check left hook against Floyd Mayweather Jr because he lunges in without defense........
And also get him to use his boxing skills more as Donny said he has good boxing skills when he uses them so i think Floyd Mayweather Sr needs to get him back into rhythm of using his boxing skills and also use his jab more he has a pretty solid jab when he uses which i haven't seen in awhile.

Bronze medal in the world games as an amateur (and he was robbed of that fight) for sure he's got skills.
The jab is a problem with his elbow condition.

For Rick's first Thirty Professional fights he was all speed.
Have a look at the Tackie, Magee, Holbaek-Pedersen and his domestic fights.

He allways looks to me like he's timing for a big shot. Not that theres anything wrong with that if you can do it. Foreman made a career out of it. Im just not sure if its going to mesh with the Mayweather snipe and move style.
I mean hey,I hope it does, I like Ricky as a fighter and want him to do well, but its definitly odd bedfellows
