Who's the nicest boxer you have met?
Half inspired by Cut Me Micks impressive sig pics, I just wondered of the boxers you have met (if any) who was the nicest to speak to?
I've only ever met Hatton, that was in the Irish bar in New York New York in Vegas. He was a a nice guy, seemed a little rushed with everyone wanting pics/sigs etc but nice guy all the same...
Re: Who's the nicest boxer you have met?
I've only met 3 big name fighters. Holyfield, Hatton, and Haye.
I've met domestic fighters such as Paul Smith and Tony Dodson and also Beijing Olympic medalist David Price.
David Haye was without doubt the nicest of them. Took the time to sign everything and let me ask him all the questions I wanted. Hatton was great also.

Re: Who's the nicest boxer you have met?
All the ones Ive met were well mannered . Probably the only guy who seemed abit offish was Robin Reid and thats only cuz he couldnt get a moments break at the time so he appeared abit annoyed.

Our main man FRANK BRUNO back in the day!A sound man who had time to chat and sign autographs.Cheers Big Frank;)
Re: Who's the nicest boxer you have met?
Johnny Tapia without a doubt and the worst Tommy Hearns.

Surprisingly it was probably James Toney who I got along great with. All the big name people I've met have been much older or not interested in doing anything they weren't paid to do. Toney is a character though and was great fun to be with.

When/how did you meet Toney?
Re: Who's the nicest boxer you have met?
He was at a weigh in for an Andre Ward fight, Ward is promoted by Goosen as is Toney so he was there. It was the day after the report came out that he was going to face Jirov in a rematch so I interviewed him to find out, he had no idea that report was out there. But he was just so funny, while we were interviewing he walked to the hotel gift store and bought a bunch of candy bars and was hardly serious at all, hilarious. I actually have the audio on my old computer I think. He was going off on all these tangents and would stray so far from the subject and just scream at the top of his lungs all the other people in the lobby staying out the hotel kept staring thinking he was a madman. Then the next night they had his fights on in the media room and he was commentating his own fights it was pretty funny.
Also I should say as far as the nicest boxers, Andre Ward is genuinely a nice guy but he is pretty shy so he's hard to get words out of sometimes but he's a very respectful, well mannered guy who isn't flashy in the least unlike nearly every other fighter I've ever met.
