Getting it straght on Nate...
Ok... I am searching the threads and no one has mentioned the ridiculous nature of Nate Campbell's fight being cancelled. Am I the only one who thinks it is fishy that a 130lb champ couldn't make 135?
They go on about his muscle building and sorts, but we must realize that Diaz lost to him and Casamayor avoided him-but faced the inevitable.
Could it be that Nate is being shut out (like Nonito Donaire earlier this year) so that he will have a long layoff? What does Nate gain in fighting his mandatories, when he is a 3 sanction champ? Will Pacquiao even come near this door, or does he avoid it like Humberto Soto? What about Marquez?
Re: Getting it straght on Nate...
We never got the answers to what really happend but 1 things for sure Nate deserves a big fight more than anyone else. Even give him a faded Barrera or someone with a name cuz as unified champ he should be cashing in
With Pac fighting Oscar in December who else is there for Marquez to fight other than Campbell ? If this fight doesnt happen boxing fans would seriously have to question what Marquez is playing at
Re: Getting it straght on Nate...
Nate deserves a title shot. Although Marques is with Goldenboy and Nate is with Don King, so it might be a tough fight to make.
Re: Getting it straght on Nate...
So the challenge is officially issued, but now that JMM is a Golden Boy fighter, will he forget that he was also ducked and shunned as a champion?
Everyone seems to believe that ODLH will put him against Juan Diaz next, but that would really stink of a Golden (Shower) Boy party. So we, the paying fans, are again left to see what THEY will tell US what WE want to see...
On another note, it seems he now has Funeka as his mandatory, and I just saw the Funeka/Raheem fight.

What a complete domination of someone who went the distance with Freitas & Morales! Does anyone know how tall Funeka is? He looked bigger than Chico in there...
Re: Getting it straght on Nate...
I think Ali Funeka will be a handful for anyone.
He has that B-Hop style where he's leaning in a bit and the head movement side to side. His punches are accurate and he seems to have good power. He's got good balance and does not waist energy he's very compact.
His height & reach advantage reminds of the way Caballero towers over any of his opponents at Super Bantam.
