Anyone Seen the Movie Felon?
If not I definitely recommend it. I think it was one of those movies that went straight to DVD without going to the theater. It has Val Kilmer in it and Stephen Dorff. Val probably does the best role I have seen him in, in years.
The movie itself is kinda low budget, but I"m telling you its really good. To me its probably one of the better movies I have seen this year.
I think it just came out a month or so ago, I happen to be in blockbuster this weekend and saw it sitting on the shelf, and since it had Val Kilmer in it I thought I would give it try. I really wasn't expecting to much, but I was pleasantly impressed with this flick.

Felon's more of a drama man. Its about a normal guy just trying to support his family when a crazy turn of events happens and he ends up in prison, His family starts falling apart because he can't support them plus he's dealing with trying to make it in jail, not knowing if he should join some kind of gang or try and make it on his own. I'm telling you its really good.
I actually haven't seen Lostboys2 yet been meaning to pick it up I see it when I go to blockbuster on the wall, its just my girlfriend isn't a big fan of Scary movies and I rarely watch tv by myself, unless its football or boxing.

I just saw this about 3 days ago....
I sware I was skeptic about it cause I'm not big on Dorff and I just didn't think I'd like anything with him in it. Then I saw Kilmers name and said OK.
I gotta say it's a really good movie. I mean good because the way the story starts to unravel is not far fetched and that shit can really happen.
Once your cuffed and put in the back of a car, regular life rules and laws no longer apply. Your on the systems law now and everything changes.
Not one dull moment in the movie and it just sucks you right in.
The fucken wife pissed me the fuck off with her fucken visits and wanting to know everything. I was yelling at the screen like BITCH! shut the fuck up he can't tell you what the fuck is going on... He's fucken locked up.
Anyway, really recommend the movie.

I was skeptic about renting it also bro. But just like you said it sucks you right and you totally start to feel for the characters. And I agree the wife was pissing me off as well.
Definitely a great movie that has flown under the radar. I went to IMDB.com the other day its rated like 9 out 10 stars by the readers.

Another prison drama I enjoyed although very much a comedy was Big Stan.
It's a Rob Schneider film who I usually hate but this was hilarious. It's about a guy who gets done for tax fraud but gets a 6 month suspension of his sentance to put his business affairs in order. In that time he trains to be a bad ass martial artist so that he doesn't get gang raped in prison.
It has some great cameos as well. The late Diego Coralles is in it as is Randy Couture, and Bob Sapp is excellent camping it up as a gay and camp as fuck black dude.
There were a few really hysterically moments, especially the fight scenes. Definitely worth a watch, especially for the fighter cameos as well. Bob Sapp is brilliant in it.
