Boxer's who live(d) in their brother's shadows?
I was watching Bobby Pacquaio/Velazquez today and struck me as funny that two brothers, with such similar phsyical attributes and appearance, and one would be the #1 fighter in the sport and the other would be a decent journeyman at best. They are not even in the same league. I realize also that Ricky Hatton's brother Matthew is in the same boat. Mike Quarry had a respectable career but obviously never came close to reaching the acclaim of Jerry.
What are some of the other boxing bros who had one successful one and one (or more) who remained relatively obscure and unsuccessful? Obviously that can't be said about the Klitschkos. And even though Leon Spinks became one of boxing's casualties he did have his 15 minutes in the sunshine.
Re: Boxer's who live(d) in their brother's shadows?
Henry Coppers brother was a good fighter just that Henry dropped Ali.

Wlad, and it can be said.
Re: Boxer's who live(d) in their brother's shadows?
I believe Librado Andrade has a brother who boxes; and he claims is better than himself. Not as if Librado has a "stellar" career but he is a good fighter and you don't hear much about the sibling.
Also I believe Jorge Linares has a brother who fights:confused: Correct me if I'm wrong. If so he will have a hard time being as well respected as Jorge.
Re: Boxer's who live(d) in their brother's shadows?
Bobby Pacquiao just needs to stop getting knocked out all the time and he'll be right there with Manny! Manny is known for his short right hook and most importantly his straight left, BUT, IMO Bobby has the better signature punch...the deadly low blow!
Re: Boxer's who live(d) in their brother's shadows?
Donald Curry/Bruce Curry
Jake La Motta/Joey La Motta
Khaosai Galaxy/Khaokor Glaxy
Terry Norris/Orlin Norris
Ricky Hatton/Matthew Hatton

Chris Eubank - Peter and Simon
Re: Boxer's who live(d) in their brother's shadows?
Tho both are P4P boxers, I'm guessing Rafa is more popular in Mexico than Juan Manuel due to their style of boxing... Rafa is more of a Mexican warrior style willing to go toe-to-toe anytime while Juan Manuel uses a somewhat boring counter punching style...
;D

Have you ever even been to Mexico?
Nevermind, don't answer those questions. I don't know why I even bother sometimes... :(

Well I'm only guessing (see my original post)... :-X
I think Mexicans love punchers... most boxing fans love punchers... not counter-punchers...
