Alright... In regards to the Tsurkan Angulo bout. This didn't piss anyone else off?

Anybody else get angry with the fact that Lampley was screaming(not once... not twice... not three times but four) "Go Down! Go Down! Go Down! Go Down!" to Tsurkan in closing moments of the fight and the fact that the HBO commentators kept bringing up Ring Death during this bout... I mean Tsurkan was taking a beating and yeah the ref had many chances to stop the bout but Lampley REALLY PISSED ME OFF... Commentate the fight and leave your shit at the door. I got so angry with the HBO team during this bout!:mad:

The whole ring death thing annoyed me too. He was taking a beating, but he was returning punches. Angulo threw maybe one punch that wobbled Tsurkan. I said it before the fight, Tsurkan gets a lot of credit for coming to the lion's den and fighting Angulo. Dude is a warrior.

The fact that Lampley thought it was cool to scream(not only to the fighter but to the HBO viewing audience) "Go Down!" to a fighter 4 times infuriated me...

Shut the F**K up and comment on the fight... That's your job. The ref, corner and commission worry about the fighter. You're paid to anylize the fight.:rolleyes:

He is the most biased announcer I've seen, and he only see's punches he wants or mentions punches he wants. The guy is horrible.

Horrible or no, the only thing I objected to was the shrillness of his voice. Imagine if you've seen guys die from taking a beating and Angulo-Tsurkan is very reminiscent of those fights. I would suggest he's only acted his conscience.

If you'd been a patron when your bank was robbed on 3 occasions wouldn't you do something if you saw a guy pulling a ski mask over his face walking through the outer door? I mean, he might not be getting ready to rob the place...

Well I was yelling at the ref. "You can stop it anytime you like ref" :-\
I yelled it during the onslaught Angulo put in in the 8th or 9th round.
Maybe I'm becoming Jim Lampley ;D

It could be one of two things...

1) Lampley started acting on his emotions

OR

2) Lampley was trying to steal the show by giving a dramatic performance.

When I was watching the fight, I was shocked the ref let him take that much of a beating...

Lampley was just being Lampley.

That should be enough for an Emmy nom. Edie Falco got the win with less.

Way over the top but the fight still should of been stopped atleast, 1 minute before it actually was stopped. Tsurkan was getting a bad beating and he had no chance of winning, and he could of had a long term injury which isn't worth it for pride, because he would of still had his pride anyway even if his corner would have stopped it inbetween rounds. Or the ref stopped it a round or 2 earlier i just think Tsurkan took unnecessary punishment, which he shouldn't of taken had the ref or his corner had done there job properly IMO.

Those are givens... Like I said in my first posts the ref or corner could have stopped it on numerous occasions but that wasn't the point...

The over the top histrionics of Lampley and all the ring death talk made me literally ANGRY!

Should the fight have been stopped? Absolutely. His corner should have stopped it prior cuz Tsurkan was throwing back(to no avail)

But Lampley's SCREAMIN "Go Down!" to the fighter in the ring? C'mon...
